I hate startups for this! These are the last days of our current batch of interns. I love my team so much🤍 But interns need to leave the team now to explore/resume other activities/education. This leaves us all full timers sad. Most startups of the size 2 to 20 usually have interns accounting for 25%-75% seats (and happiness). That is a big share. They are usually there for a 2 months (if summer) or a 6 months (if academic) internship. Once their term ends, a big size of the team changes. This makes a big mood change in the full timers. (Sometimes many even leave due to sudden changes in the environment) It is a startup and it will always have this. Even big corporates have internship programmes but there this issue is not so big. Now, after all the sadness, there's 1 good thing: A new batch of interns join! Bringing back the joy of teaching, learning & bonding. Since 2019, we have taken 45+ interns till now. They come back as visitors and stay connected to their old home, Smowcode❤ - We are Smowcode and we make software that makes software. Back in 2021, I came across the word “internship” for the first time when I landed on my first one at Techiegen Ventures Pvt Ltd. as a freshman. Being a freshman, I gained: - New perspectives - Basic professional etiquette - Insight into the startup ecosystem and how incubators work So, If you’re in the process of figuring things out, why not start with a senior’s startup? Most are incubated in your college which makes getting permissions a lot easier! But here’s my additional tip: do some homework and aim for a funded or real-world startup in the niche you look for. 🚀 Day 38 of my Summer Internship at LinuxWorld Informatics Pvt Ltd! 🚀 Today was a deep dive into the world of business and startups—an exhilarating journey into the essence of entrepreneurship. We had the privilege of being guided by an exceptional mentor who helped us navigate the complex path of starting up, revealing how to unlock our true potential in this ever-evolving landscape. We explored the global dynamics of the startup ecosystem, uncovering what it takes to thrive in this competitive environment. From managing cash flow and securing funding to overcoming market challenges, the session highlighted the intense dedication and hard work required to build something truly impactful. The day also introduced us to crucial startup concepts like equity vs. debt, the power of growth hacking, social media strategies, and content marketing. We even delved into MVP development, intellectual property, UX/UI design, and the vital role of customers as the first investors. Our afternoon was filled with strategic thinking as we conducted a SWOT analysis and crafted a business model for our product. We discussed everything from validation and key performance indicators to go-to-market strategies and investor expectations. Understanding TAM (Total Addressable Market) and capital requirements was another key takeaway, rounding out a day packed with invaluable insights. **Starting My Journey with Young Innovator Internship 2.0** Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a bit about my first day at the Young Innovator Internship 2.0. We kicked things off with an overview of what we'll be doing for the next 10 weeks. We were welcomed by Sir Yash Dandavate, who is super inspiring. He started his entrepreneurial journey at 19, raised $700k, and has solved many problems along the way. Now, he's part of #Scaler and doing an awesome job spreading tech knowledge. Yash talked about how an innovator is someone who sits at the intersection of business and technology. He said you don’t need to know how to code to be a great entrepreneur. He even built an AI chatbot without knowing how to code, which was mind-blowing! He busted the myth that you have to be a coder to succeed in tech and told us to focus on understanding tech instead. He also shared some qualities of a true innovator: patience, persistence, and passion. He reminded us that we might not find solutions instantly, but with hard work and dedication, we can overcome any challenge. Seeing what the previous batches of YIIC have accomplished really fired me up to stay focused and take on this challenge. I’m super excited for the next 10 weeks. 🤔 Guess what? Today at our LinuxWorld Informatics Pvt Ltd internship (day four), we presented our startup idea to the legendary Vimal Daga Sir! After brainstorming and refining idea into something awesome idea. We entered the conference room, we were all a mix of excited and nervous. 🧑💻 I as a team leader started by explaining the problem our startup would solve. Then, each of us took turns explaining different parts of our solution, from the cool AI models we planned to use to the super easy interface everyone could understand. 🎗️ The best part? Vimal Daga Sir seemed super interested! He listened closely to our ideas. He liked how much we've prepared and our clear vision, but he also reminded us that startups aren't always easy. We'll need passion and perseverance to make it work. His advice was amazing. His words were like a shot of rocket fuel! We left the meeting feeling super motivated and with a clear direction. We're bursting with pride and ready to take on the world. We learned a lot about our project and are pumped to push the boundaries of innovation. The future is bright, and we can't wait for the challenges and excitement ahead! 🚀🚀

Last Thursday, I finished my 3-month journey with City Quokka, and found myself reflecting on the incredible experiences I’ve gained in such a short time. As a Market Research and Strategy Intern, I had the unique opportunity to work with an innovative startup that’s changing the way Sydneysiders explore their city. From day one, I dove into the world of market research and strategy with the guidance of John Wastnage and Dasaradhy Srinivasan. Together, we navigated the competitive landscape, identifying insights and opportunities that could help CityQuokka stand out in a crowded market. The process wasn’t just about data - it was about understanding people, what makes experiences memorable, and how to connect those moments with our audience. One of the highlights was designing pitch materials that captured CityQuokka's unique value. It was thrilling to see how our research translated into strategies that could fuel both product development and funding initiatives. Every meeting, every brainstorming session added another layer to my understanding of what makes a startup tick. I’m grateful to the founders for this amazing opportunity and my colleagues for their constant support. The first two lectures on "Leveraging AI for Startup Growth" and "Building your Personal Brand" were game changers! The "Leveraging AI for Startup Growth" class by Sumeet Malik was really incredible! We got to go deep into the area of artificial intelligence and see how startups can use it to promote development and innovation. I'm excited to put these ideas into action and develop something genuinely revolutionary! But wait—there's more! The "Building Your Personal Brand" class by Yash Dandavate was similarly impressive. In today's digital age, having a strong personal brand is essential, particularly for young professionals like ourselves. We learned how to create an engaging narrative that highlights our abilities, knowledge, and unique value offer. And how can I forget about LinkedIn hack sir told us which is really very helpful. I'm already striving to improve my web profile and provide content that appeals to potential employers or investors. What I like about this internship challenge is that it's not all theoretical; we get to apply our knowledge through hands-on projects. It's similar to a real-world simulation that prepares us for the obstacles we may face as entrepreneurs or IT professionals. The best part? The networking opportunities are endless! We get to connect with industry experts, mentors, and like-minded individuals who share our passion for technology and innovation.
