This NYT article feels like a broken record - film and TV production is leaving LA FAST. Studios are chasing better deals overseas, and California is falling behind. This isn't news. I tour a lot of studio lots. They are eerily quiet, like an old western when the tumbleweed rolls across the screen. 📉 LA saw a 20% drop in production just last year. That’s not just lost stories—it’s lost jobs, lost revenue, and lost identity. Meanwhile, New York, Georgia, and the UK are rolling out the red carpet with aggressive incentives. And it's working. California and LA can’t afford to play catch-up. If we want to keep the film industry here—on our streets, in our soundstages, and fueling our economy—we need bold, meaningful incentives now. Enough of this tired perspective about propping up big business. The progressive wing of Sacramento needs a reality check. They're hurting the livelihoods of working and middle class people who need productions to earn.
