This year Rosella Street have been developing a #DigitalProductPassport (DPP) solution for council, government and industry. A DPP is a digital file that contains vital information about a product’s material breakdown, the percentage of recycled content, and the origin of the materials. It also includes technical data to assess how recycled products or materials can be applied, their local availability, alignment with standards, and any sustainability or recycled content certifications. This project is part of the Recycled Content Verification Challenge by NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, under the NSW Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) Program run by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. We are running a pilot and testing program between November 2024 and April 2025. 🔇 LOCAL COUNCILS 📨 Invitation to Pilot & Test a Digital Product Passport with Australian company Rosella Street. Have you heard of the new Digital Product Passport system built just for government to solve the "Recycled Content Verification Challenge"? By design, the DPP system aligns with the National Framework for Recycled Content Traceability and the evolving direction of the ReMade brand and it will empower all levels of government to confidently source local recycled products and manage them throughout their lifecycle, feeding them back into the circular economy! Key Components of the DPP: 🛂 Digital Product Passport Management System (DPPMS): Store and manage DPPs, maintain a material bank, and report on end-of-life outcomes. 🖥️ National DPP Database (DPPD): View and compare trusted, verifiable information across all product DPPs in Australia. 🏗️ Project Functionality: Support the capture of products and materials used in council and agency-funded projects. Rosella Street are inviting interested Local Government NSW Councils and Government Agencies to contribute to system design and test the solution between Nov 2024 and Apr 2025 at no cost. What a great initiative Samantha Williamson! Will be very interesting to hear the outcomes of the pilot. Hope you get some great engagement from councils like Bega Valley Shire Council, City of Melbourne, City of Gold Coast, Randwick City Council, as well as all the Australian councils doing amazing things with sustainability, digital transformation and nature repair. Have you come across the www.naturepositivematters.org.au initiative? The team at Jude built this site for Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water recently, thought it might be of interest to interest to you. 😀
