Read a lot of history books and biographies. They’re the best way to navigate the present and future. We often think people run on new ideas or ideologies, but history is just repeating itself in fifty shades of grey. As the saying goes, history doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You would be surprised how accurate is this. Understanding historical playbooks is the best education you can get. It’s surprising how the “unknown” can be hiding in plain sight for years. Or, on the other hand, how it can be a complex game of strategy. Or maybe, in the end, it’s just a bunch of random people doing random things.. As Picasso said - good artists copy; great artists steal, that happens with history as well.

Good take. There's also the fact that everything happens in cycles. Adds a nice layer of predictability to what happens.
