2025 has got off to a flying start with the AI Consultation with the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). We're all concerned to ensure that the inevitable transition to AI is done responsibly and this consultation allows a deep dive into DSIT's proposed AI Management Essentials tool. Having a tool such as this is clearly of great importance - but is it just more red tape and admin burden and is it going to be of any use? We have 50 businesses involved in the consultation and it's already shaping up to be an brilliant debate about how the tool can be used to support businesses in responsible AI. Perspectives are being shared by the full range of participants from universities, global corporates and a great mix of SME AI providers. We look forward to sharing the analysis but so far so good!

The Ministry of Digital Development strengthens investment in AI new innovation programs and supports 20 companies to enter the capital market The Ministry of Digital Development in Taiwan is launching a NT$10 billion plan to enhance investment in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation programs. Minister Huang Yannan announced that the initiative will focus on local AI start-ups, with details to be revealed by the end of this year and investments starting next year. The goal is to support at least 20 companies in entering the capital market and to potentially foster new trillion-dollar industries. Huang likened the current industrial transformation driven by AI to the industrial revolution, stressing that countries embracing this trend can achieve rapid economic growth. In contrast, those neglecting AI's productivity potential risk stagnation. Given Taiwan's reliance on small and medium-sized enterprises facing funding issues, government support for AI development is essential. The Ministry is seeking NT$10 billion from the National Development Fund for its "Strengthening Investment in AI New Innovation Implementation Plan," which aims to invest NT$1 billion annually over ten years. Expected outcomes include establishing a digital industry capital between NT$100 billion and NT$200 billion, creating around 10,000 jobs, and aiding at least 20 companies in entering the capital market. Huang envisions AI transforming various industries in Taiwan, while acknowledging the growing importance of risk management and data protection in AI development, particularly regarding personal information and the challenges posed by generative AI technologies. #AI #Taiwan https://lnkd.in/gGHd27hq
