This is a very interesting article on the price changes and how it has actually been helping some companies, resulting in a cheaper overall run cost. 🚀 Unlocking 33% Savings on VMware Costs! 🚀 We recently helped a client reduce their VMware costs by 33%, optimizing their back-office operations. Here's how we did it: They were running 1000+ VMs across 12 VMware hosts and wanted to cut costs. By analysing their VMware Aria Operations reports and integrating them into our Power BI model, we identified a way to consolidate workloads. 🔍 The Solution: ▪ Reduced VMware hosts from 12 to 10 while balancing the load across the remaining hosts. ▪ Discovered there was enough CPU capacity to further cut down to 8 hosts, optimizing resources. ▪ The key limitation? Memory constraints, which prevented further host reductions. 💡 The client is now eagerly awaiting VMware release VCF9, which will introduce memory tiering—an exciting innovation that will allow even more cost savings!
