Last Friday was an incredible day at RDI Hub as we marked five years in business and looked ahead to the future of AI and innovation! The event kicked off with networking upstairs in our #ReeksRestaurant, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders. Liam Cronin, our CEO, reflected on our five-year journey, thanked and acknowledged the contributions of our internal and external partners, and announced the launch of our €1M #AINavigator programme in partnership with Enterprise Ireland which will enable SMEs to adopt and implement artificial intelligence solutions. The Smart Regions AI Navigator programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027. Minister Norma Foley delivered a keynote, saying that vision and courage are an unbeatable combination and that Fexco founder Brian McCarthy had shown both, and been the catalyst for uplifting so much success in the county. She praised Mr McCarthy for his generosity to the community in developing the RDI Hub. Minister Foley's address was followed by an engaging panel discussion on AI as the 4th Industrial Revolution, featuring insights from Microsoft, EY, Delta Partners VC, ADAPT Centre, and Munster Technological University. The conversation explored AI’s impact on industry, its opportunities, and the challenges of responsible implementation. Carol Gibbons, head of Entrepreneurship, Regions & Local Enterprise at Enterprise Ireland shared insights on fostering entrepreneurship and regional growth, followed by a fascinating AI Customer Panel, where leading businesses Energywise Ireland, Right Group, Tricel, O'Carroll Engineering , TLI Group and Fexco discussed how AI is transforming their industries. The day continued with Neil Hosty, CEO of Fexco, speaking about the importance of the RDI Hub to Fexco, and key highlights over the past five years, followed by Joe Canning sharing lessons on teamwork, communication, and the role of data in sport. We also premiered a short RDI Hub member video, showcasing what it means to be part of our community.
