The #GoogleCloudNext 2024 was a highly attended event, full of key product announcements. For me, the highlight was around enterprises, both large and small, exploring GenAI strategies from innovation to production. We met with tens of marquee customers and digital natives, ideated and strategized, and learned about their roadmaps and plans for productizing GenAI. Key things on top of customers minds: 1) How to develop a safe and responsible GenAI strategy while productizing rapidly? 2) How can they develop and deploy multi-modal agentic applications with minimal fuss? 3) How can they measure RoI and integrate GenAI into their broader corporate strategy and mission? As I leave #GoogleCloudNext brimming with 30K+ attendees, and the buzz of myriad thoughtful & insightful conversations, presentations, and connects behind, I feel compelled to share What happened re #GenerativeAI rather than let it stay back in #LasVegas: 1)Customers are increasing adoption of GenAI, use cases are no longer simple Apps, but are now morphing into Agents, CoPilots, with an integrated workflow and unified interfaces! 2)Enterprise adoption is trending up with more model choices and better grounding of data using and in the enterprise ‘Truth’; 3)Trend is towards faster, cheaper, and yet smarter full stack processing: everyone is launching their own PUs and connected inferencing engines; Longer context windows is de rigueur, New prompt management tools are making them more domain specific! 4)Edge workloads and use cases will soon become a big chunk of the GenAI use cases and will need to work across cloud environments and networks; 5)AI governance and security are on top of everyone’s minds, and new offerings like Digital Watermarking are steps to bring back the Trust factor in AI generated content! Focus is on Employee, Customer and Developer Experiences delivered through GenAI agents using the domain lens! Feel very excited about being in the thick of a fast growing impactful trend and being able to learn and contribute at the same time.
