Great pleasure to be back in Manchester as I start my induction as Chair of Health Innovation Manchester (HIiM), beginning September 2024. The Greater Manchester (GM) integrated health and care record is ground-breaking. It provides health and social care professionals with vital information to inform safer decision-making about care and treatment for ~3 million people in Greater Manchester. It takes data from social care and health and provides a brilliant platform for longitudinal health https://lnkd.in/e5u3fCHf Look at some of the best integrated health systems in the world, be they in North America, Israel, Europe, Singapore or Oceania, and few have social care data. The GM integrated care record opens up enormous possibilities in care, research, education and population health. 21,000 clinicians (and 414 primary care practices) are already using it with ‘dynamic care planning.’ And it’s getting stronger every day. It’s one to watch as we push the boundaries in health, care and life sciences through our partnerships. We welcome all interest from those that wish to “add life to years and years to life”. This success has come from the formidable leadership of our outgoing Chair, Rowena Burns, our CEO, cardiac surgeon, Ben Bridgewater (pictured) and talented staff across GM. I’ve seen bits of combined care and health data work in pockets around the world, but nothing on this scale. Come to Manchester if you want to drive innovation at scale.
