Very useful animation showing automation of Figma designs based on a PRD. The thread talks about the development process from ChatGPT 3.5 to ChatGPT 4o, with visuals that highlight the results. Imagine what will be possible with ChatGPT 5 this summer. https://lnkd.in/dDqj2Dke

🤖It’s all fun and games until a company goes bankrupt trying to move GenAI snippets into production. 🪁 While mockups like Figma designs give you a visual guide, they don’t guarantee functionality—but at least they won’t break the bank. #LLM and #GenAI snippets, on the other hand, often look flashy but collapse under real-world pressure. It’s like building a cardboard AI agent with duct tape—creative and fun, but not built to last. Taking something like a #JupyterNotebook as production-ready can rack up costly technical debt faster than you think. Let’s make #MLOps great again!

🫨 Animated Figma Select dropdown with component set. Will upload a tutorial in next few days on my YouTube Channel https://lnkd.in/dMzhaEDn Recently worked on a SaaS AI tool and had to use a animated drop-down select input for a status change and here are the results #figma #dropdown #prototype #saasdesign #saasai #animated #select #uxdesign #uidesign #webdesign #productdesign

I think this is a fair take. As a UX Writer, my apprehensions about AI have never been on a “help, the robots are coming for my job!” level but rather on a sociological level. Those concerns aside, LLMs are a handy tool indeed to get you started if you don’t have a strong community around you that understands the nuances of language. It’s like (very expensive) scratch paper, that allows you to build a structure that you can then refine into something better. Usual caveats apply, of course — this only works for those who know what they’re working towards and what they want to achieve. Gen AI isn’t going to do your thinking for you.
Hi CDs! Want to save time on QA and make sure your design looks good in other languages? Figma recently added a nifty little AI tool that will let you translate entire screens in minutes. Obviously this is not text you should be using for users, but it can be a great way to see how your text or DS components break in longer languages. Here's a little video showing how :)

Given the hype around the new artifact feature of Claude Sonnet 3.5, we tried to one-shot a reasonably simple sketch-to-code task - it seems good at understanding the example given - we followed up to ask not to use d3.js (third party library) but to build the chart entirely which is simple in that case - it wasn’t great in the end, even after 3 shots it required a lot of work. - for some reason, the code couldn’t run in Artifacts - not sure why - sonnet 3.5 was significantly better than GPT4 after the same first two shots For context, we provided an extremely detailed sketch done in Figma. Making a detailed sketch takes time, and given the output wasn’t great we would likely have done the entire task faster otherwise Ultimately we finished manually
