Superexcited about what's ahead, if you want to move the frontier of AI, join us! [email protected]
On the heels of the launch of Amazon Nova—our new state-of-the-art foundation models—we’re opening a new research and development (R&D) lab focused on AI in San Francisco today. Built from the ground up by David Luan and Pieter Abbeel, the Amazon AGI SF Lab will focus on developing new foundational capabilities for enabling useful AI agents that can take actions in the digital and physical worlds. In other words, we’re enabling practical AI that can actually do things for us, and make us more productive, empowered, and fulfilled. We’re just getting started, and we’re looking for a few dozen passionate, talented people to join the team. This is not just AI experts who have trained state-of-the-art models—we’re also looking for candidates from other disciplines who will bring fresh thinking to the field, such as physics, math, or quantitative finance, regardless of experience level. By keeping the team lean, we’re able to maximize the amount of compute per person. Check out the link for more info: https://amzn.to/3Zs3cbw

3moPieter Abbeel 📌 What particularly stands out is their interdisciplinary approach - bringing in diverse perspectives from physics, math, and finance could be the key to breaking through current AI limitations. The emphasis on compute-per-person ratio with a lean team structure is particularly intriguing. This could potentially lead to more agile development and breakthrough innovations.
