Leadership isn’t just taught—it’s lived. The MWYF Student Leader Board is just one example of how we empower our students to take charge of their futures. Middle and high school students who are part of the Student Leader Board step up to plan and execute fundraisers, organize events, and create experiences that benefit their peers and their MWYF community. Along the way, they develop essential skills like teamwork, communication, and decision-making—skills that will serve them far beyond their time at MWYF. Will you invest in the next generation of leaders and make an impact before the year is over? https://lnkd.in/d7wrXduK

As we enter the season of giving, it’s a good time to reflect on what giving back truly means. My experience serving on various boards has taught me that giving extends beyond November and December and it goes beyond physical efforts. It’s about offering strategic input, lending credibility and growing through service. Giving back is an ongoing commitment that benefits not only the organizations we support but also ourselves as we learn and evolve through the experience. Whether it’s time, expertise or resources, let’s remember that our contributions matter year-round. Let’s continue making an impact, not just during the holidays but every day. #GivingBack #BoardMemberExperience #Leadership #CommunitySupport

Knowing how to maneuver within the wider culture of an organization is critical to being able to project as an effective a leader. Fundraisers who ascend to leadership responsibilities must learn this skill and develop a network of working relationships and strong alliances. The Association of Fundraising Professionals Massachusetts Chapter is assembling its next cohort of participants in its Emerging Leaders course who will convene February 4 and 5, 2025, at the UMass Club in Boston. Participants will hear first-hand how to navigate the leadership structure from veteran presenters Stephanie Truesdell and Joe Manok.
