Three things neuroscience can teach us about change: 𝟏. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭. These patterns have been developed anywhere from childhood to more recent years. It is important to recognise what these pre-existing patterns are in order to move forward. 𝟐. 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐞. The neurosynaptic pathways that define who we are can change for the rest of our lives.
