Over the years, I've realized that building product is like a muscle that you have to constantly exercise, or else it atrophies. Our team is dedicated to building out the vision at Lofty, but the problem with spending years on one product means you tend to pigeonhole yourself by focusing on a particular industry or a technology stack. This means that you don't get to exercise new muscles when it comes to new technologies and product categories that pop up. As a result, our team at Lofty counteracts this by building fun hobby projects that are completely unrelated to our day jobs on the side. If you didn't know this Alpha Arcade (https://lnkd.in/gJMBEr6G) is one such project built by our team and is currently live on test-net. It's the first and only betting market built on Algorand to my knowledge. Most of our hobby projects are internal automations or just fun personal things that never get released, but we think a prediction market on Algorand could be a cool and useful thing for the community. If you're interested in prediction markets, please go give it a try and help us test it out before the main-net release. We don't have concrete plans for the future yet. It's still a fun side hobby for now. But if the product takes off, we might spin it off as a fully fledged entity distinct from entities. And my advice for other builders out there is to always be exercising your builder muscles. Go and make a tiny AI. agent for fun, even if your main product/business has nothing to do with AI. This helps to keep you up to date on new technologies and product shifts. The new skills you learn will often make you a better building and help make your main product/business better in the long run!

It's out! After months in development and beta testing, I'm excited to finally release Oasis of Ideas to you. This is an online platform for sharing, discovering and discussing ideas – ideas for digital products, businesses, social initiatives, games, research projects, and any other kind of project you can think of. If you have — a crazy project idea, or — an abandoned project that you think still has some potential, or — an idea for something you really need but which nobody seems to have built, or — just a way of meaningfully extending existing work (whether your own, or someone else's), then you should go submit it on Oasis of Ideas. Worst case: you spend 10 more minutes thinking and writing about an idea/problem that you anyway found interesting enough to remember. Dennis is the mastermind behind Foursquare and many other location-based social apps, now onto his next thing. Goodbye Slush 2024: as usual, you were great. Did a lot of demos of our forthcoming (Discord-platform defining? 🤞) game - read on for 🚀 feedback - and have some opinions/takeaways on tech, games, and Mojiworks part in the Venn-diagram overlap of the two. I think AI is more likely to become an API for unbundling of specific behaviours & workflows, than a do-everything tool. The LLM training arms-race will commodify them, and there will be lots of interesting startups solving niche-but-big problems with domain-specific expertise sitting on top of LLM APIs. Why? Benedict Evan's great (as usual) presentation https://lnkd.in/eAmK2iA9 has a ton of analysis - and classic Jobsian quotes - that (IMO) points in that direction, plus startups like Finch / Pamela Nunez Wallgren doing super interesting work that's unlocking more creativity by enabling faster experimentation & iteration. The tech industry is bouncing back from the doldrums; the games industry has lagged that by 12-18 months so is near the bottom of the curve, so this wasn't a big games year at Slush. I reckon next year will be on an uptick - the cycle does what it does. Most of the games conversation was about gen-AI. See above. The current way of working needs to be reviewed and held accountable because it violates the core of the process "not participating in self-construction" .Always regard certain problems and phenomena as opportunities and prerequisites to establish the purpose of teams and projects, including service enterprise forms. That is, they cannot be used to cater to some familiar market or demand. It will definitely be a slap in the face. It has no bottom layer and is not long-term. Behavior cannot be justified to form a closed loop, and there is no prerequisite for cooperation. The demand is implemented in reverse, and there is no supporting model. Reflect on what artificial intelligence is currently doing? How does it go from 0 to 1? .Be good at using thresholds and expertise (elitism and why) as feasibility arguments and basic assumptions. Sustainable solutions require love (biological expression and evolutionary possibilities) and values (path realization) to create a co-construction mechanism such as (Using a knife and a lion to talk about the deliciousness of meat naturally chooses the latter) Also reflecting again on what intelligence can do .What is our long-term? It is inevitability. It lies in the long-term brewing experience and services that may shape our future. This is what we need to do to achieve self-construction. For design, for games, for beauty, for flow, for corporate behavior, for popular elements. Exploration in tech. I've delved into various realms of the tech world, including web, app, game, and AI development. Throughout this journey, I've acquired knowledge of numerous technologies, frameworks, and languages. Initially, my exploration was aimed at discovering what truly resonates with me. Balancing my responsibilities as a daytime worker and a nighttime entrepreneur, I faced the challenge of learning diverse skills needed for each area, which often led to anxiety. However, I've now started to focus on specific goals for both my corporate career and my entrepreneurial ventures. Reflecting on my journey, I feel a great sense of accomplishment and recognize the edge it gives me in understanding multiple aspects of the tech world. For instance, my knowledge of networking and security in web development has smoothed my learning curve for online multiplayer game development. In conclusion, don't be afraid to explore different technologies, frameworks, languages, and areas of tech. 2024 was an amazing year of being guided and receiving. I'm excited to BE in 2025 Stepping into the new year and a new dimension. The games we will play are both familiar and otherworldly. 🌟 2025 Goals: 1. College Counseling: Guiding veterans and international students in aligning their careers and education with their life goals through personalized AI-curiosity learning plans, aiming to assist at least 300 more students by December. 2. Fair Housing: Implementing AI and automation to gather and analyze data on housing discrimination, with the goal of setting up at least three automated systems by July. 3. AI Mastermind Group: Assisting at least 20 small businesses in building a foundational relationship with AI by December, providing them with essential tools and a community of support for integration. A HIGHLY engaged community of AI Entrepreneurs. 4. Metaverse Community Project: Building a Web3-focused community for teens and young adults to develop their own metaverse, engaging at least 100 participants by year-end, while channeling Mystic Nylima during my digital nomad journey starting October in Greece and Thailand. 5. Investment Portfolio: Building a diversified portfolio with ETFs and cryptocurrencies, aiming for a 10% annual return to support financial growth and business development.
