The Breas Clearway 2 is a mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (MI-E) device designed to assist patients with airway clearance by simulating natural coughing. It offers four therapy modes: 👉 Mechanical Insufflation-Exsufflation (MI-E): Delivers positive pressure to inflate the lungs, followed by rapid negative pressure to facilitate secretion removal. 👉 MI-E with Oscillation Therapy: Adds oscillations during insufflation and exsufflation to help mobilize secretions. 👉 Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB): Provides periodic positive pressure breaths to enhance lung expansion. 👉 Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV): Offers ventilatory support without the need for invasive procedures. This Clinical guideline recommend assessing a patient's cough peak flow (CPF) to determine the most appropriate airway clearance technique. For instance, patients with a CPF of 180 L/min may benefit from MI-E therapy. For detailed instructions on setting up and using the Clearway 2, including changing settings and utilizing specific modes, educational resources and video tutorials are available on wwweducationbybreas.com #Clearway2 #airwayclearance #MIE #education #guideline
