🚀 Tech, Policy, and the UK’s Competitive Edge – My Takeaways from techUK’s Tech Policy Conference 2025 Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending TechUK’s Annual Tech Policy Conference, and it was truly an insightful and engaging day. From discussions on the UK’s global tech position to the latest regulatory shifts, the conversations highlighted both opportunities and challenges ahead. 💡 A few key reflections from the day: 💪🏽 The UK is a global tech powerhouse—but we must stay proactive. We continue to lead in areas like AI, fintech, and deep tech, but other countries are catching up fast. Sustained investment, regulatory clarity, and a talent-driven approach will be crucial to maintaining our edge. 🧑🤝🧑 Collaboration is just as vital as competition. Whether it's London working with other UK regions or the UK strengthening ties with European and global partners, we must embrace a mindset of co-creation to drive real innovation. 🚀 Optimism for the future. No matter the political stance, there was an overarching belief in the power of technology to drive growth, prosperity, and positive change across society. 🔍 Big regulatory shifts are coming. Sarah Cardell’s insights on the CMA’s new consumer enforcement regime highlight a major shift in how businesses will navigate compliance. With direct enforcement powers coming into effect in April, it’s more important than ever for businesses—especially SMEs—to stay informed and prepare for the evolving landscape. A huge thank you to TechUK, the fantastic speakers, and all the attendees who contributed to such an engaging day of discussions. Special thanks to Tajinder Bains and Frank Davies for the insightful conversations—it’s always inspiring to exchange ideas with brilliant minds in the industry. Looking forward to seeing how these conversations shape the next steps for UK tech! #TechPolicy2025 #UKTech #Innovation #Collaboration #Regulation

20hI don't think ai can be regulated long term when the innovation we see is far beyond anything we've seen before. How do you regulate a machine which has it's own autonomy? Love the grand building ✨
