The EDPB's latest draft Guidelines on processing personal data based on Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR was released recently for public consultation. These guidelines clarify how “legitimate interest” can be used as a lawful basis for processing under GDPR. They offer a comprehensive framework, outlining conditions for application of the provision, a three-step assessment and scenarios to ensure compliance while protecting data subject rights.
