Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor: From tough-faced agbero to fintech storyteller—the streets prepared me for the boardroom in ways no MBA could. Some tales worth telling from 2024: → Bringing street wisdom to fintech → Turned payment narratives into stories that resonate from Balogun Market to Victoria Island → Learned to smile without losing edge (still a work in progress, but we move) Three posts that hit different: "I Am Learning to Smile" - On trading my toll-collector stern face for corporate charm "Life got better, things got better. Left my job as a toll-tout for marketing comms, the stern face followed me to my corporate rebirth." https://lnkd.in/dreU5nHU "Finding Happiness in Lagos" - How FX mallams taught me about customer experience "They make me feel wanted, needed, and even loved" https://lnkd.in/dW5pzDWJ "The Streets Have Your Brand's Report Card" - "That small sachet detergent you designed for one wash. A hawker has figured out how to stretch it to three." https://lnkd.in/dF-NtFTc 2025: More stories that bridge the gap between corporate corridors and Lagos streets. More smiles too, small steps. To every hustler trying to find their voice in corporate spaces—you don't need to change your essence, just your delivery. The streets taught us well. #LinkedInRewind #Coauthor #2024wrapped -- Get your 2024 LinkedIn Rewind! Go to coauthor [dot] studio in your browser

Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: Moving from beta to live with our invoice discounting product taught me the true meaning of financial inclusion in Nigeria's informal market. The journey revealed that successful fintech isn't just about deploying technology - it's about understanding the human elements that make or break financial relationships in our unique market. Key realizations from 2024: • Physical verification remains crucial in a market with poor addressing systems • Real financial inclusion requires both education and accessibility • Trust is built through presence, not just platforms • The informal sector needs tailored solutions that respect local realities Three insights that resonated deeply with our community: "After successful testing and refinement, we're now ready to help even more businesses access the cash they need to grow and thrive." On moving beyond beta testing to full launch https://lnkd.in/d787YmHs "Human touch is essential in this part of the world, where personal relationships matter." On the realities of debt recovery in Nigeria https://lnkd.in/dDD2J4UG "This experience highlights the significant challenge of educating customers in the informal sector about credit." On bridging the financial literacy gap https://lnkd.in/dzsD7UPw We've expanded across food value chain, FMCG, and construction sectors, while maintaining our commitment to combining innovative fintech solutions with human-centered approaches. The African Female Founder Summit in Nairobi reinforced that we're not just building a company - we're part of a movement to transform financial access across Africa. Looking ahead to 2025: We're focused on scaling our impact in Nigeria's informal market while maintaining the delicate balance between technological innovation and human connection. The market challenges haven't changed, but our ability to navigate them has grown stronger. To every MSME fighting to grow in this challenging environment: we're building for you, learning with you, and committed to your success. #FinancialInclusion #MSMEs #NigerianMarket Get your 2024 LinkedIn Rewind! Rent 700k, Agency fee 800k... Nigeria will whyne you, but don't panic! 👇 In Nigeria, context is everything. And by context, I mean taking all the amazing solutions, big ideas, and fancy concepts you’ve learned and breaking them down to fit the system, culture, and people here. If you don’t, then you haven’t really measured the impact of your research or strategy. No, be by big grammar and fancy theories oh! Nigeria is one country where middlemen play a huge role in how things work. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. At the start, it’s better to collaborate with them and build your way into the system. I recently had a conversation with a friend whose startup struggled because their solution was designed to completely cut out middlemen. As we talked, the discussion turned into a strategy session. (as per strategy girl💅) I shared my thoughts: it’s not about going to war with the current system but about working with it strategically. At the end of the day, research, strategy, and all the tools we use aren’t about disrupting for disruption’s sake. It’s about understanding the realities of the market and crafting solutions that actually work for the people. A top strategist Tosin Balogun once said: “𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐤. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐬, 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐬.”That’s a principle I’m learning to live by. As I grow as a strategist, I’m constantly reminded that context is key. For solutions to make a real impact, they have to work in the real world—our world. Meanwhile, can someone please explain the drama with Nigerian rental agents? 🤔 Outside is really expensive oh! #strategy #brandstrategist #UX #Productdesign #businessstrategy

Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: 2024 exposed Zambia's water sector to its most complex challenges yet - but complexity is where strategic finance becomes a transformative force, not just a supporting function. This year, I discovered that true systems transformation happens at the intersection of technical expertise, courageous leadership, and an unwavering commitment to solving fundamental infrastructure challenges. My journey through 2024 was defined by expanding impact beyond traditional finance boundaries: • Appointed to the Ministry of Finance's Public Investment Management Technical Committee, representing ZiCA - proving that strategic finance expertise can drive national-level systemic change. • Earned World Bank certification in Water Utility Creditworthiness, deepening my understanding of how financial frameworks can unlock sustainable infrastructure development. • Led groundbreaking financial transformation initiatives at Lukanga Water Supply, reimagining how strategic financial thinking can solve complex operational challenges. • Moderated a pivotal session on "Financing Frameworks For The Arts" at the Creative Industries Business Summit, demonstrating that systems thinking transcends sector boundaries. Three posts that captured my growth and resonated most deeply with our professional community: 1. "Business Process Re-engineering & Systems Strengthening" Insight: Accounting isn't just about numbers - it's about solving business problems holistically. Quote: "At the centre of Business Process Re_Engineering is the fundamental Rethinking and Radical Re_design of Business Processes to achieve Dramatic improvements." 2. "Giving Feedback: Criticise Behaviours Not People" Insight: Effective leadership requires focusing on specific behaviors, not personal judgments. https://lnkd.in/dzHWbtmJ Quote: "Successful feedback focuses on specific behaviour and is impersonal." 3. "Personal Strategic Planning" Insight: Strategic planning isn't just for corporations - it's a powerful personal transformation tool. Quote: "Your personal and career strategic plan should clearly articulate where you intend to be in the next 3 to 5 years." Looking ahead to 2025, my mission remains clear: continue strengthening financial systems in Zambia's critical infrastructure sectors, championing an approach that sees finance not as a supporting function, but as a fundamental driver of systemic transformation. To my colleagues at Lukanga Water, fellow committee members, and the broader professional community - thank you for trusting in a vision that sees financial leadership as a catalyst for meaningful change. #StrategicFinance #WaterSector #LeadershipLessons #SystemsThinking #ProfessionalDevelopment #LinkedInRewind #Coauthor #2024wrapped

After much deliberation, my team and I at Swiftbooked have made the strategic decision to pivot from serving multiple regions across the UK and Nigeria and instead focus solely on South Africa. The reason is simple: our customers are here and we were stretching ourselves too thin. South Africa represents a huge opportunity for us to dominate the market and become the leading appointment booking software in the country. Instead of trying to fight for market share in the UK, where we’re relatively new, we’ve decided to double down on where we can create the most impact right now. I’ve also been humbled by a valuable lesson from Ryan Osher “In the early stages, you have no choice but to do things that don’t scale.” As painful as that may be, I’ve embraced it. Speaking directly with my customers in person has been exhausting at times, but also rewarding. It’s helped me onboard 9 out of 10 businesses I talk to, and every interaction is a reminder of the importance of staying close to our users. It’s fair to say I’m learning as I go: ✅ Selling? I’ve got that covered. ❌ Marketing? Still figuring it out, but I’m eager to grow in this area. P.S. If you’re an angel investor—or know someone in your network who might be—please feel free to DM me. If you’d like to get in early, we’re moving fast, and the next few weeks and months will be critical as we hit the milestones we’ve set for ourselves.

Doing the work consistently to get a desirable outcome. Have you ever looked around and thought, "Am I where I hoped I’d be by now?" At 20, I’m coming to terms with the difference between my teenage dreams and the challenges of reality. Growing up in a middle-income household in Nigeria, we had the essentials but not always the luxury of choice. Those experiences shaped my outlook on what financial freedom means—and why I want to earn it on my terms. My 24-Month Plan for Financial Freedom: Build an Audience: Writing on platforms like LinkedIn and Medium(https://lnkd.in/dm2BhKFU) to grow my brand. Engaging people with relatable content will help me form a supportive community. Monetize My Skills: From freelancing in software development to creating SaaS products, I’m using self-taught skills to build income streams that don’t consume my life. Smart Investing: Day trading (FOREX) with a safe, risk-managed approach to generate returns over time. This journey isn’t just about money; it’s about creating a flexible lifestyle that allows me to focus on what truly matters. The best advice I can offer? Take small, consistent steps, and never lose sight of what you truly value. 🔄 If anyone has experience in freelancing or monetizing an online audience, I’d love to hear your insights! #FinancialFreedom #PersonalFinance #CareerJourney
