In 1999 people laughed at David Bowie’s vision of the internet as a transformative force for music, communication and society. Then it all came true, revolutionizing our world. Today, the idea of a quantum internet might seem equally far fetched, but it’s also on the horizon and in a decade or less it will be upon us. The quantum internet promises ultra secure communication and unprecedented computational power. Discover the path to the quantum internet and its transformative potential for our future. https://lnkd.in/gcrV_PPN #quantum #quantuminternet #ThePowerOfn #Innovation #transformation

We're 'Enchanted' to hear that GQuinta (via Medium) was a 'Mastermind' and used D-Wave's technology to create the ultimate Taylor Swift playlist. Never in our 'Wildest Dreams' did we imagine our quantum technology being used like this! We can’t wait to see what else can be done with quantum tech. D-Wave + #Swifties = ‘Love Story’! The transistor radio, invented in the 1950s, revolutionized portable audio by using transistors instead of vacuum tubes. The first commercial model, the Regency TR-1 (1954), was soon followed by Sony's TR-55, which gained global popularity. Affordable, compact, and battery-powered, transistor radios allowed people to access news, music, and entertainment on the go, becoming a cultural icon of the 1960s. They played a significant role in spreading rock and roll and connecting rural communities. Though largely replaced by modern devices, they remain a symbol of technological innovation and accessible communication. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinking #designthinker #radio

Quantum technology can be used for a lot more things than you think; and a lot of things you think are simple may be a lot more complicated than they initially appear. https://lnkd.in/g4WcgSDC

You want to take a peek at a nation’s advanced supercomputing facility #aurora about its power, configuration summary, its usage for complex simulations in quantum physics/ AI - note that it’s available to anyone to use with Open Science projects provided you publish the results to public! The nation has an array of such facilities under the #DOE sponsored National Research Facilities some of which have been in existence for 70+ years involving nuclear research that were applied during #WW2 Real life analogies are quoted in describing this heavy weight supercomputer for a clear understanding of the same by anyone! Hope these are going to continue excelling in their engagements and get continued government spending 🤣 without cuts if you know what I mean! #exascale #quantumphysics #artificialintelligence #ALCF
In a new report from WGN-TV, ALCF Director Michael Papka provides an inside look at Argonne National Laboratory's Aurora exascale supercomputer, highlighting how its immense computing power and advanced AI capabilities are set to transform scientific research. At the end of today, I was exhausted, not expecting to stay engaged when I sat down for the guest keynote from Mick Ebeling. I had no idea just how powerful this talk would be or the emotional impact it would have on me. Mick’s story is extraordinary—not just because he achieved what seemed impossible over and over, but because of his approach: “Commit first, then figure it out later.” It’s the ultimate reminder that, with the right purpose, the word "impossible" can almost be crossed out of our vocabulary! But what hit me the hardest was his “WHY”! Mick saw a WRONG that needed to be RIGHTED—a paralyzed artist unable to create, a young boy, Daniel, whose arms were blown away by bombshells, a pianist robbed of his ability to play—and he refused to walk away! His mission to “Help One, Help Many” is a call to action for all of us. Because of his relentless pursuit, lives were profoundly changed: - paralyzed artists are drawing again with his eye-tracking technology; - not just Daniel, but many, many more amputees now have super affordable prosthetic arms; - and the pianist with Parkinson’s is playing music again! This is the power of technology and innovation driven by purpose. It’s a reminder that when we lead with compassion and courage, we create real impact. If you need a reminder of what’s possible, please, watch this on YouTube. Don’t just take my word for it—experience it yourself. https://lnkd.in/grXtRqp5 https://lnkd.in/gm4_fbJN #HelpOneHelpMany #Impact #Innovation #GartnerSymposium #NotImpossible
