FBI Special Agent / 3X Founder / Fellow: Hoover@Stanford + AFWERX@USAF + BRSL@Cal / Lawyer .............................................. PERSONAL ACCOUNT. NOT SPEAKING FOR THE FBI.

This is my bald spot. There are many bald spots like it, but this is mine. In many ways, it is a more accurate profile picture than the nice flag one I use. I earned this bald spot over 17 years of service to the American people. When I came on board the FBI, I made around $60,000. I'm a lawyer. First year lawyers in California (where I live) average $100,000ish per year... I didn't join for the money. I've arrested child molesters, murderers, thieves. I've worked with public corruption squads, gang squads, white collar squads, but I've always sat on a counterintelligence squad where we stop autocrats and bad guys from compromising the U.S., its people and companies. We work nights and weekends. Policy is we're never off duty until we retire. We don't get paid overtime. It's incredibly rewarding work for a missionary like me. I'm not the only missionary. There are very few here in the FBI who couldn't make lots more $ elsewhere. There are are 12,000ish of us agents, and we lose one or two in the line of duty every year. It's not the most dangerous job in the world, but we all carry guns for a reason. We're here because we believe in the mission. I'm now a 17 year agent (08-Lucky13!). I could make about double if I left the Bureau. Its not an efficient choice for me to stay, but I do not intend to leave until they kick me out. I am a missionary.
