Saying school is not important is cool stuff. But also very wrong, misleading, and maybe psychologically dangerous to children. I went to a meeting today and it was an ed-tech brand. I saw teachers teaching kids 1-1 on Zoom calls and I just became sad. Children have always learned by mimicking and in a group of roughly their own age. School/university provides a controlled environment that simulates the real world without actually having any real risks or rewards at stake. The job of a school is not only to transfer information from one mind to another. There's much more. Kids compete with each other and learn about their strengths and weaknesses and their personalities. They learn social dynamics, collaboration, cooperation, politics, friendship, etc. Lack of this leads to social disorders, psychological disorders, low self-esteem, low confidence, proclivity to depression, and anxiety in some cases. They understand their status relative to other kids. They have formalized standard tests and levels they need to pass. They build their groups and their own goals. They start to have their own "life". Which is impossible to create at home. A child and his sibling and parents are not his/her friends and tribe. There are rules at home, but some of those rules are not at school. Due to this, kids are free to explore which they can't do at home with mum and dad. Online schooling and coaching should be a damage control. When the world has gone into chaos (like in the Covid) then use online school or online classes. If the world is doing okay, let your kids go out. Let them realize that there's a whole wide world where his/her parents aren't present. The world is crazy, and unregulated, it's almost like a jungle. Let them feel "exposed", meaning, when he/she gets into trouble and is called in front of authority or even their friends, they realize that there's absolutely nobody that can help him/her there. Even if they call someone, they will either be busy or take time to come. This is the time when the kid takes on the world all by himself, this builds real-world confidence and endurance. School/college are basically elaborate initiation rites and rituals. #education #onlineeducation #edtech #edutech #explore #explorepage

Apps, AI chatbots, and #teletherapy platforms offer personalized, on-demand mental health support. From stress-relief tools to virtual reality (VR) therapy, students now have #scalable, stigma-free resources at their fingertips 📱. Beyond tech, modern wellness programs include workshops, guided meditations, and peer-led networks to foster a culture of support and resilience.
