#Bihar to Host #Asia’s #Widest Cable-Supported #Bridge <> A Landmark in Infrastructure Development : Bihar is on the cusp of a historic achievement, as it will soon be home to Asia’s widest cable-supported bridge, revolutionizing connectivity and setting a new benchmark in infrastructure development. This six-lane bridge, stretching across the Ganga river, symbolizes not only the state’s transformation but also its rise as a key player in modern engineering within Asia. Asia’s widest bridge, this engineering marvel, will rely entirely on cutting-edge cable support, offering a blend of strength and innovation. At 34 meters wide, the bridge will feature six lanes of traffic—three on each side—ensuring a seamless flow for vehicles. Each lane will measure 13 meters, providing ample space to prevent congestion and allow for easy transportation. Moreover, the bridge’s design caters to a wide range of commuters. It will have 1.5-meter-wide footpaths on both sides, allowing pedestrians, cyclists, and bikers to move freely and safely. The addition of street lighting throughout the bridge enhances safety, particularly for night-time travel, ensuring a well-lit and secure journey for all. Not only does this bridge connect Aunta to Simaria, it also represents a monumental leap in Bihar's infrastructural capabilities. With its advanced construction and focus on modern conveniences, it promises to become a model for future projects across the country and beyond. This bridge, supported by 18 pillars—nine of which stand within the river itself—spans 8.15 kilometers, including a 1.865-kilometer stretch directly above the Ganga. Once operational, it will drastically improve transit and trade routes, supporting economic growth in Bihar and positioning the state as a key player in India's infrastructural ambitions. Trials for the bridge are set to begin in December, with full public access anticipated by March 2025. This bridge is more than just a structure; it’s a symbol of Bihar’s resilience, progress, and its vision for the future... ASIA? China has many of these Asia has 10 Lane are active for 10 years Xi’an in central China. The 526m long and 57m wide and three-towered Fengyi Bridge includes a five-lane dual carriageway and integrated pedestrian and cycle paths. It also has a full-floating articulation system. I guess we should work more on quality of bridge New Bridges people were taking off cement with hand.
Actually am worried. Here we have seen bridge collapsing multiple times during construction which is better than if collapses after open for public. क्या हमारा बिहार इस वाइडेस्ट ब्रिज का भार ले पाएगा? क्या हम नेता और कांट्रेक्टर पर भरोसा कर सकते हैं?
I read the concerns of few individuals about the recent failures and probabilities of this iconic bridge too. I request everyone look at the contractors, type of contract and design consultants involved and finally funding organisations. This is totally unique structure and no similarities with other bridges which failed The fundamental difference is “Foundation”. This bridge is standing on very deep and large size wells or caissons. Surely the perception of new Bridges in Bihar will change after the commencement of this Bridge. Thanks for sharing the info Neehar R
Just crossing my fingers 🤞Bihar is the known of the maximum fast falling new bridge world record. Hope your news give us a positive vibe..
Neehar R I did cross this river last week and saw the work. Looked awesome. 👌 This will also ignite tourism at Simaria Ghat known for Kalpavas Mela. Jai Ho Rastra Kavi Dinkar Ji Ki Bhoomi 🙏
Hope this will set the trend setter in the state of Bihar with bad records of falling bridges. Very good technical initiative
