The acquisition of VMware by Broadcom caused a huge shock wave in the IT ecosystem. Cloudbolt's latest study attempts to quantify the degree of market disruption and measure the palpable concern of CIOs. Removal of perpetual licenses, restructuring of the portfolio to only retain super-bundles, redefinition of roadmaps, uncertainties surrounding the support of old versions under perpetual licenses, new imposed partnership contracts, etc. The acquisition of VMware by Broadcom created real chaos in the publisher's ecosystem and disrupted the strategic infrastructure plans of customers and partners alike.

If anyone wants to see what the Broadcom acquisition is doing to VMware pricing, take a look at this. We need 20 more Horizon client licenses. New price is 2.5 times higher than the price we were quoted in December. Two and half times! How can that price be justified for the exact same product?

Really looking forward to this one. When you want simplicity, how about a standing up a cluster with a second grader? (I mean, I may not be as smart as this second grader, but still, how's that for Zero Touch Provisioning?) That's what Scale can do, and so much more. So good we said it twice. There is no resiliency without simplicity. Such a great insight. Connex searches the globe for solutions that are easy to use, not just to make IT teams day go better, but also because if its too complicated, it hurts your RTO. For more great insights like this, why not join us on May 2nd, 2pm Eastern when Scale Computing's Christie Kanen and Shane Freamo will help navigate the uncertainty surround VMWare after the Broadcom acquisition. Great article Will Townsend. You do a great job of articulating the financial and technical challenges in front of all VMware customers and the opportunities presenting themselves that will enable them to come out stronger in the end. "Additionally, deep observability offers valuable security and migration advantages. It aids in identifying and mitigating the security threats created by the disaggregated nature of hybrid infrastructure deployments."
