Ever wonder why some connections seem to open doors you never even knew existed? Recently, I spoke with a Director of Software Engineering who has spent the last 10 years in the aerospace industry. His perspective on networking left a lasting impression on me… When I asked why he was willing to connect, he simply said: You never know where a connection can lead… This hit home. Networking isn’t just about immediate opportunities… it’s about planting seeds for the future. Whether you’re actively job hunting or not, building genuine connections now creates a valuable network you can tap into when the time is right. The key takeaway? Invest in relationships today, because you never know when they’ll become the bridge to your next big opportunity. #Recruiter #Recruiting #Hiring #Aerospace #Defense

🔥 Handling triple-digit temps? Easy 🥵 But recruiting? Now that’s a real challenge 💪🏽 As recruiters, we’re often the first point of contact for candidates, and sometimes that means hearing their frustrations. It’s understandable—the job market can be unpredictable, rates aren’t always ideal, remote roles are rare, and feedback delays can be tough. But when candidates are vocal about their concerns, it’s actually helpful. Beyond the frustration, it helps steer the plane in the right direction, guiding us to what they are really looking for. And when they finally accept an offer, knowing we’ve helped them land that opportunity, it’s incredibly rewarding. That’s why I love what I do! ✨🤩🎉 #RecruiterLife #Rewarding #Challenges #Aerospace #JobOpportunities #HiringNow #ChiptonRoss #Aviation #Defense

#TheRightFit ✨ As a recruiter, my job consists on searching for the perfect match between candidates and job openings. It’s about more than just filling a position; it’s about helping people find roles where they can truly thrive. Sometimes, I meet candidates who are a perfect fit for a role, but the location is a concern. It’s tempting to push for relocation, but I’ve learned that if someone isn’t excited about moving, it can lead to job dissatisfaction later. On the flip side, I’ve seen candidates eager to relocate for what they consider an amazing opportunity to step up in their career. Either way, my goal is to find roles that not only match their skills but also feel right for their lives. That’s when I know it’s important to ask the right questions and really listen. Every conversation I have is a step toward finding that ideal job for someone. So to my fellow recruiters and job seekers: keep the dialogue going! By asking and sharing, we get closer to your new job. #Recruiting #JobFit #CareerLongRun #HappyHunt #HiringNow #JobOpportunities #ChiptonRoss #Aerospace #Defense #Aviation

Shoutout to my network! It is Talent Tuesday here at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control! When I was a young Air Force recruiter, my boss always told me, "Hey Pablo...you have to use all the tools, all the time to be successful in recruiting!" Those words stuck with me, and I’ve carried that lesson forward in my career. Whether you're hunting for a new job, exploring opportunities, or refining your professional journey, I want to share a few tried-and-true pro tips for success: 1. Leverage Your Network: Connect with former colleagues, mentors, and industry professionals. Use that LinkedIn People search to find people who share your background who have successfully made the leap to where you want to be....those are perfect people for a virtual coffee chat! 2. Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile: Make sure your profile reflects your most recent accomplishments and skills. Use a professional photo, write a compelling headline, and showcase your expertise. 3. Tailor Your Applications: Customize your resume for each job you apply to. Highlight the experiences and skills that align closely with the role. Your resume should clearly show how you meet 100% of the Basic Qualifications and then go on to highlight any proficiency and proven results via the Desired Skills. 4. Research Companies: Understand the mission, values, and culture of the organizations you’re interested in. Tailor your approach to show how you align with their goals. 5. Practice Your Pitch: Be prepared to articulate who you are, what you do, and what you bring to the table—in interviews, networking events, or chance encounters. 6. Are you part of the Military Community? Make sure you connect with the Military Relations Team at whatever organization you're applying to. At Lockheed, a great way to connect with this dedicated team is to attend our Continue Your Mission webinar on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Follow me for registration links several days before the event. Remember, job hunting is a journey, not a sprint. Stay persistent, adaptable, and positive! Use all the tools all the time! And most importantly, don’t hesitate to reach out for guidance or support. Here at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, we’re always on the lookout for passionate and talented individuals to join our team. If you’re curious about opportunities with us, feel free to connect or message me. Let’s build the future together! https://lnkd.in/gh5yvRCu #TalentTuesday #JobHunt #LockheedMartin #CareerTips #Networking

Saturday Morning Reflections | Coffee and a Laptop After a great week highlighted by reunions with friends, Black Hawk Helos and Navy SEALS, I am looking forward to next week: the Veterans Networking Group meeting on Tuesday at USF in Tampa, Florida. We have an exceptional program planned: Two exceptional professionals from military friendly employers (Cassandra Glubzinski with John Deere and Darcy Carr, MHRM with CereCore) who will be providing an overview of their awesome programs and job openings. This will provide an opportunity for job seekers to network face to face with employers and build those very important relationships. On the spot interviews may happen! Also, an exciting one hour class, “AI and the Veteran Job Seeker”, will be presented, where we will be discussing how to effectively leverage AI during the job search. This is a must see class for military grade talent ensuring their job seeking journey is on par with top level job seekers. News Flash! I welcome connection requests from all potential candidates/jobseekers. I could not do my job without great candidates! If you want to connect or have a chat please know this: My niche industries are Aerospace, Aviation, Defense & Manufacturing. So if those are your target industries, please feel free to connect with me! If you are looking for a new position that is outside of what I do, I may not be able to help you. I love amazing people that are thinking about making a move from where they are now because those are the best candidates to talk to and my clients love that as well. I also will work with anyone that is not currently not working as long as they fit into what I am hiring for. Please feel free to connect with me and if you are a fit for what I do, I do want to work with you and tell all my current and future company clients all about you. #patriotmethod #recruiting #hiring #search #candidates (Tap that bell 🔔 to follow me David Dickey, Comments are welcome!)

Is your job search feeling like a grueling 20-mile ruck march? You're not alone. As a career coach for military veterans, I've seen firsthand how economic shifts impact job searches. The latest ZipRecruiter report reveals a stark reality: 🔸Only 15% of job seekers say their search is going well 🔸43% are job hunting daily (up from 37% last year) 🔸63% feel pressured to take the first offer they get Remember when we talked about "embracing the suck" during tough missions? Well, it's time to apply that resilience to your job search. 🔸Network like your career depends on it (because it does). 🔸Set clear, achievable daily goals for your search. 🔸Just like in the field, intel matters. Research growing sectors like government and healthcare. 🔸I was an NCO, so this is something I said a lot to young Soldiers and LTs of course, lol. "Remember your training", you've faced tougher challenges. This is just another obstacle to overcome. Who's ready to show employers what military precision looks like in action? #VeteranJobs #CareerTransition #JobMarketInsights #networking

I wanted to take some time today to share my thoughts on the value that Veterans and military personnel bring to the workplace. As a Veteran myself, I can attest to the discipline and mission-oriented mindset that we possess. When given a task, we don't need hand-holding or constant direction. We are trained to get the job done efficiently and effectively. As the CEO of BES Solutions, Inc., I often look for people with military or other federal experience when hiring. I know that they have the resilience and determination to thrive in the tough federal contracting space. So, for those who may be struggling to find their place in the workforce, know that your military experience is a valuable asset. And for employers, don't overlook the discipline and resilience that Veterans can bring to your team. Trust me, I've seen it firsthand. What do you think? Employers, what do you look for in hiring? Job seekers, what have you found sets your experience apart? Be sure to follow BES Solutions, Inc. to see our latest hiring opportunities! #VeteranOwned #Hiring #Entrepreneur #VeteranRecruitment
