Why entrepreneurship is an act of magic. I’m at Healthspan Productions, a biohacking event put on by Veronica Besmer and Elias Arjan. I’m talking to Brian M. Murphy, CFA, CEO & Co-founder of Living Prana, about unexpected lessons of going from the VC world to founding a business. “The most unexpected lesson was that everything takes longer than you think.” Ironically, that’s my biggest fear—do we have enough time/money to survive the trial and error of building a sustainable business? Brian offers a reframe: “When you pursue your goals with the highest level of intentionality and integrity, what you need will find you.” It reminded me of the Hindu philosophy: “Dharma (your true nature + purpose) protects those who protect it”. You learn to tap into the abundance of the unknown, or find yourself fearing it. The magic lies in the alchemy of how you process your experience. And the magic will happen when you surrender to the journey / open yourself to it: Be authentic, and you’ll find meaning and support in the right people and resources at the right time. 🌱 This helps me trust the process and have faith in the unknown. Another philosophy Kristina Morf, Aino Halonen, and I instill at UXD Lab + clients to find certainty is: "Test, don’t guess”, a UX/UI principle. I love networking, and I am grateful for the amazing people that I meet. I wish I had a picture with all the amazing folks I met, but I don’t.
