Don't lead with numbers in FP&A. Lead with goals instead. You'll get requests for numbers all day until blue in the face. Ask questions before giving numbers. What are your marketing, sales, product, ops, engineers trying to accomplish? How is that connected to the overall strategy of the company? Get answers to questions like these first. To ensure the idea or project warrants numbers in the first place. THEN bring the FP&A heat with numbers that support the decision-making process. You'll help your company and co-workers move in the same direction. And (eventually) provide what you're known for. Numbers.

Anthony Enrico from LeanScale and I spent a good 30-40 minutes talking shop over a high-level QFlow.ai demo this afternoon. We covered stuff that CFOs and RevOps need to be thinking about: * Data munging * Real-time assembly of GTM stats * How to assemble a 12-month rolling forecast that brings finance, marketing, and sales to the table (in alignment) Also discussed: running tighter exec staff meetings and the prerequisites to using GenAI in production. Looking forward to seeing the show when it airs and to come back for a couple deep dives. We're planning on focusing a couple deep dives on how GTM leaders (marketing, sales) get value from a CFO office that's truly leaned in.
