I joined Esa Rautalinko, President & CEO of Patria, and Tytti Tuppurainen, Finnish MP, for a dynamic panel at this year's Helsinki Security Forum - HSF, expertly moderated by Lt. Gen. (ret.) Ben Hodges. Together, we tackled the pressing security challenges facing Europe and defense industry’s role in today's complex global landscape.    The central themes of our discussion included: • Leveraging emerging technologies like AI, edge computing, and 5G to respond to evolving threats. • Building a more resilient, advanced defense industry to deliver capabilities faster and more affordably. • Enhancing interoperability through open architecture frameworks, allowing allied forces to operate seamlessly. • Strengthening industry resilience by increasing surge capacity and diversifying supply chains. I watched the entire session. Great discussion and lessons learned. Ukraine likely presents the greatest challenge to the industrial base since WWII. If we were able to support the Lend-Lease program while simultaneously building our own capability in the 1940s, I believe we can overcome the current challenges. We must continue to work with our strategic partners and NATO allies AND keep the citizenry on both sides of the Atlantic behind the effort.
