Building an open source LCA calculation engine based on LCAx! We believe that there is missing an open source calculation engine for whole building LCAs. Building a calculation engine that takes advantages of LCAx's data structure seems like a natural next step in our journey. - Based on LCAx's Data Structure The calculation engine should take LCAx data as input and return LCAx data with the result fields populated. - Based on EN15978 The calculation engine should live up to the European norm for LCA calculations - EN15978. - Webpage for Calculations A calculation engine means no UI! But. We would still like to help users use the calculation engine. Our updated input-output model is here! And yes, there's still a FREE version. We've released SWC MRIO v2.0 (Small World Consulting Multi-Regional Input-Output Model, but who has enough time to say all that?) with up-to-date emissions factors, improved methodology and now have 3 versions of the model: * The free version provides emission factors for 2022, for the UK. * The new ‘Basic’ version gives 2023 emission factors, has 6 countries, and is available on a supply or demand basis. * The ‘Pro’ version is for full commercial use, it has 75 countries, gives total emission factors and a breakdown into suppliers’ scopes 1, 2 and 3, and can use purchasers’ or basic prices. It has factors for 2018-2023. Our Director Mike Berners-Lee says “We want to help move the carbon accounting world out of the Wild West, where it’s been stuck for decades. This MRIO dataset is one part of that effort. We're certain that the hundreds of people who downloaded the free v1.0 of our MRIO will find the updated v2.0 an improvement.
