What a great experience-- to participate at the Cleantech Open ("CTO") Northeast Semi-Finals as a panelist! A few themes: ✅ Same & different- you might see 2 companies doing similar things in terms of their technology, say ground based & blade-less power generation or deep or shallow underwater turbines, for example, but going about it in completely different and viable ways, commercially. ✅ Adjacent & Interesting: Another company is aggregating data to help modeling & de-risk (perception) for these newer technologies to make financing and growth possible for these innovations .... Knowledge is power. ✅ Listen & Learn: you might find a person or company that you seemingly have zero connections with. This, as Beth Zonis says, is the time to ask questions. It’s fun, and pretty incredible how you can find overlap when you talk to like minded and passionate people.
