Join us on October 30th in an informal on-line setting to learn about how a diverse group of experts, led by Cindy Cai, researched the Risk of Kidney Failure among Patients with Blinding Diseases Who Receive Ranibizumab, Aflibercept, and Bevacizumab. Imagine asking a similar clinical question and being able to run stats on millions of cases, from 12 databases, in about 9 weeks!!! NEW ASPE OS-PCORTF Report Highlights Projects Advancing Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Data Capacity Conducting health services research requires access to longitudinal data on a variety of health care topics. A new report from the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) highlights 36 projects that offer resources developed for researchers by researchers to support patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). Funded by the Office of the Secretary’s Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (OS-PCORTF), projects are working to strengthen data infrastructure by addressing data needs for priority topic areas, developing data standards and data linkage methods, improving data access and interoperability, and building capacity for generating patient-centered evidence. Public health informatics is a field that combines public health with information technology and data science to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public health activities. It involves the collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of health-related data to inform decision-making and improve health outcomes at the population level.

The Real World Evidence Working Group have published a new deliverable! Check out the Quality and Reusability of Real World Data project's new blog post, titled 'Understanding the Data Quality Issues in Real-World Data Through Real-World Examples'. In the evolving world of health research, real-world data (RWD) has emerged as a transformative force, offering insights beyond the confines of controlled clinical trials. Excited to share that I recently presented a paper at the International Conference on Informatics, Management and Technology in Healthcare! My paper, "Tailoring Infographics of the Norwegian National Dietary Guidelines," explores how infographics can make dietary guidelines more engaging and accessible across age groups. This work is a side project to my master’s thesis on digital twin visualization, demonstrating how visuals can enhance understanding and interaction with health information. Barreto Background: The Center for Data and Knowledge Integration for Health (#CIDACS) in Brazil, was created with the mission of contributing to the production of scientific knowledge, through the application of innovative methodologies, to expand the understanding of socio-economic and environmental determinants of health. Through the linkage of large databases, and subsequent creation of cohorts including millions of individuals, CIDACS conducts public health research that provides robust scientific evidence to support decision-makers. With the aim of consolidating actions that strengthen the globalized strategy for digital transformation in the field of health, through data interoperability and the promotion of common data models such as the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (#OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM), CIDACS instituted the IDAF (Data Interoperability and Federated Analysis), as a new subgroup within its Data Platform team, responsible for the curation and production of data for CIDACS’ research projects. This was an initiative that recognized the increasing global valorization of the application of the OMOP CDM for the generation of valuable and robust knowledge in the field of health, based on realworld data, as well as the steep learning curve for the utilization of the tools developed within the #OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics) community, and the importance of the contribution to their open-source development. https://lnkd.in/eS_-exhK
