Companies at the GenAI crossroads. After experimenting last year, companies are now investing in GenAI quickly and at scale – with different expectations. The clock is ticking. According to professional services provider Genpact and analyst firm HFS Research, companies only have two years to exploit the full potential of generative AI before they face competitive disadvantages. This is the conclusion of a recent survey (Link in the article)) of 550 executives. The study divides companies into four AI maturity levels based on their investments and the extent of AI implementation: - Pioneers (5 percent) are taking a leading role in integration and setting benchmarks because they expect AI technologies to have a direct impact on their growth, such as a higher market share and competitive advantages. - Fast Followers (27 percent) uses AI strategically to achieve efficiencies and focus on using AI to improve the customer experience. - Hesitant and observers (45 percent) are postponing investments because they want to use AI primarily to increase operational efficiency and productivity. - Refusers (23 percent) are opposed to generativeAI, skeptical and miss out on potential innovations.
