Collaborating with the incredibly talented team at Continue , we’ve seamlessly integrated their cutting-edge resale technology into our business model. This is a significant step toward keeping Dubs on kids' feet and out of landfill for longer, reinforcing our vision of the ‘Immortal Sneaker’ and positioning Dubs as a pioneer in the circular economy for kids’ footwear. Our customers can now choose to receive cash for their resale or exchange it for 'Dubs Dollars' (plus a little extra!), encouraging continued engagement with our brand and keeping them connected to the Dubs community. The platform enables our customers to effortlessly buy and sell their outgrown Dubs directly through our website. Continue advanced technology guarantees the authenticity and quality of each pair, fostering trust and confidence. AND, it provides us with valuable ‘life’ data for each shoe, which we can use in our storytelling, enhancing our connection with our community. Eventually, Dubs will be an educational platform. Imagine the stories we can share through the lens of our products...“this shoe has climbed 15 trees, travelled to x different countries, attended 4 festivals,” etc. Owning an item with a rich history becomes a badge of honour. This is the reality of the world we live in: -100 billion new garments are produced annually around the world. - It takes around 2,700 litres of water to make one cotton shirt. - Buying a single white cotton shirt produces the same emissions as driving 35 miles in a car - Just 8% of old clothes are reused and only 10% are recycled across the globe But we can make changes! - Buy less and and choose higher-quality items that last longer instead of fast fashion pieces that wear out quickly. - Purchase clothes from thrift stores, consignment shops, or online marketplaces for second-hand goods (Vinted is an excellent app offering some great high end pieces) - Upcycle old clothing into new items (turning jeans into shorts or t-shirts into cleaning rags.) or even remodel old t shirts to be something new! - Organize clothing swaps with friends to refresh your wardrobe without buying new items. - Adopt a minimalist approach to your wardrobe, focusing on essential items that you truly love and wear often. #textilewaste #fastfashion #overcomsumption #secondhandshopping
