Had an interesting idea - shoot it down if you think it sucks but, I am intrigued either way. I come from a pro sports background and if a team wants to sign you or an agent wants to represent you (and make money off you), they approach them - not the other way around, they’ve generally done due diligence and render it something they want to pursue. These people scout around and then reach out to gauge mutual interest, they often make the first move and have the initiative. Could business / investment be more like this? Investment firms scout businesses they want to invest in, instead of being the ones sat there waiting for intros or startups to reach out or recommendations from others. Maybe a platform can be built for startups to broadcast their KPI’s/bios, maybe with testimonials - packed with things that investors are traditionally interested in. Investors can search for a specific industry or stage of investment or even their location to whittle them down. I just think the model of startups reaching out to investors is kind of broken, it I’m sure frustrates investors too. Maybe the process needs flipping and could spark opportunity. Less cold emails to VC’s inbox, instead, the investor finds people they want to chat to.

Sequoia hasn’t backed us just yet 😝 but we are looking to scale and hire GTM leaders for hushh.ai and hushhtech.com which is our investment management business. Full transparency we haven’t raised any money from external investors yet for hushh.ai except for hushhTech.com which funds hushh.ai today from its free cash flow. That being said we don’t plan to raise for hushh.ai atm as we are building a sustainable business that isn’t dependent on VC money until we find scaled PMF.
