Founder and Managing Partner at Powerhouse Ventures & Founder and CEO at Powerhouse

It’s one of the biggest honors of my career to announce that Jigar Shah—one of the world’s most prominent leaders in the energy transition—has joined Powerhouse Ventures as a part time Venture Partner! Jigar’s track record of transforming the energy landscape—through groundbreaking ventures like Generate Capital and his impactful work leading the Loan Program Office for the last four years at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)—makes him the single most influential person to help unlock massive opportunities for our portfolio companies. Jigar is already actively engaged with our founders, providing strategic guidance and opening doors to new opportunities. On a personal note, I first met Jigar a decade ago, before he founded Generate Capital, when I was just starting Powerhouse. He was kind and encouraging even when Powerhouse was nothing more than an idea; that’s just who Jigar is. This full-circle moment fills me with hope and excitement for all we will accomplish together. Jigar, welcome to the team! And to everyone recently laid off from DOE, our portfolio companies are growing, hiring, and looking for people like you. There are 76 open roles right now—details here: https://lnkd.in/g4wzUWkp If someone you know could benefit from these opportunities, please forward this post or share it with your broader network. Let’s play the long game—and win together. #PowerhouseVentures #ClimateTech #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #Innovation #CleanEnergy #Startups #ClimateAction

This is EPIC

It would be interesting to create an actual documented list of just how many of us Jigar was kind and encouraging to when we had just an idea (and for some of us was the seed capital too!) and the impact on our lives it had. Now expand that from all the companies created to the people who worked at them when the founder took their idea further bc Jigar didn’t shoot it down but rather helped us.

Congratulations! And this is worth a repost: "And to everyone recently laid off from DOE, our portfolio companies are growing, hiring, and looking for people like you. There are 76 open roles right now—details here: https://lnkd.in/g4wzUWkp"

I loved the business model focus that DOE's Loan Program brought to loans, and glad to see that could be applied to early stage clean tech, smoothing key growth transitions. Way to go!

Emily Kirsch can Mr Jigar Shah provide a trustworthy quantified assessment by how much all the projects that received financing through U.S. DoE LPO have actually cooled down the Global Climate? Fraudulently overestimated GHG emissions reductions don’t count. Regular taxpayers are supposed to believe that it’s not CO2 per se, but upward trend of global temperature indices represent an existential threat to humanity. So, it’s only actual cooling which is important. Let people know how effective was the work of Mr Shah as a head of LPO 🤔

Great news, and congratulations to you both! And for all those affected by the layoffs, one of our portfolio companies, Coral (fintech for electrification incentives), is hiring for a role that could be great for DOE veterans: https://startcoral.notion.site/Commercial-Operations-Lead-11bf40474688803aa69ded9a89b385f3
