#SiliconMeetsAI Attended #VLSID2025 Conference in Bengaluru as #Marvell delegate where main theme which came across various key-note sessions and panel discussions over two days was “How India can leverage the unique opportunity it has been presented with by having demography advantage, democracy, data and demand over next decades.” Here are some key points: · While AI itself is killer application for data consumption and compute, killer application for AI is not found yet. · Don't limit to design: define, design, and deploy. We need to build products in India, for India and which have life altering uses for humanity across the world. · In semiconductor industry, business talent is as important as technical talent. Productization mindset is as important as deep technical know-how. · While packaging domain/industry is considered boring and not as cutting edge, today’s reality is that packaging cost is sometimes more than die cost. SIP (System in Package) is the new buzz word. · Industry’s success is based on Value/Cost. India semiconductor industry has been targeting denominator for a long time. Now lower cost talent pools are coming up in other developing countries. So Indian semiconductor industry must target numerator as well. Provide more value by starting ground-breaking innovation. · Partnerships between startups and universities are not being leveraged well in India currently. Big scope of improvement there. · Fail fast method may work for software industry but it doesn't work for semiconductors, as design cycles are longer. Patience is needed from government and investors. · For semiconductor industry usage, AI must be very accurate compared to consumer class AI, as there is no scope of mistakes in hardware. · We need to understand how to put system together. Best of people should go to hardware product design as well. · “Hierarchy is a killer for innovation”. Ideas need to be supported irrespective of where those are coming from. · There is huge opportunity of using Made-In-India components to transform Indian Systems: example Indian Railways and transmission losses being faced by Dis-coms (Electricity Distribution Companies) Last but not the least; this summary is not AI generated.

I love what Mukesh Ambani, whose Reliance Industries Limited is exploring AI tie-up with NVIDIA, told its CEO Jensen Huang : “India 🇮🇳 will be one of the biggest intelligence markets and it’s not only our aspirations but the raw gene pool and raw gene power and youth power that exists in India that is going to drive intelligence. Once we drive intelligence for our domestic market, we will use intelligent services beyond software to integrate with the rest of the world. Indians now will not only export CEOs to the world’s largest companies but hundreds of millions of Indians.” So India’s next big export — and gift — to the world will be not just ARTIFICIAL intelligence🤖 but sheer HUMAN intelligence 🧠 !
