Hi friends, after a relaxing few weeks off after my last role, I'm refreshed and keen to start something new. So if you know of any roles in the IT Project or Program Management space let me know! I've got the skills to bring your programs and projects to life. I've driven projects to fly, or sometimes fail despite best efforts (hey it happens when you are innovating), to go from fledgling to fully kickass and everything in between. I've learned a thing or two and I've got some war wounds, so I know what it takes to progress a vision from back of the napkin idea to embedded and running smooth as clockwork. I find myself in the unenviable position where I lost my job in a reorganization where my position was eliminated. While not a unique spot to be in, with much of the job market shifting these days, it is the first time in my career where I've not known what comes next. I do know how important networks are so I'm reaching out to those I know on here if they are aware of any opportunities that could be a good fit, I'm open to and appreciate any advice, opportunities or connections that you may be able to share. As I approach my sixth month of unemployment, I wanted to see myself through an outside perspective because this job search journey, filled with silence and rejection, can trick you into thinking you’re incapable or equipped to retain a role. I took an informal poll of those closest to me to ask them, “What am I good at?” and since I’m an oversharer who’s sorely missing human connection, I wanted to share some insight I gained: - #organization was the number one trait that everyone called out: I’m apparently the most organized person I know. What can I say? It’s a gift 🤷🏾♀️ - “Systems and processes are your strong suit; you can take what people are thinking and make it a tangible thing”: I enjoy putting puzzle pieces together, whether at work or an actual puzzle. More fun for me! - “You’re good at finding new ways to make things run smoother.”: there’s nothing I love more than to stumble upon a more productive way to reach point B that saves us time, effort, and resources - “you need a leadership role because you’re direct and you get things done in a timely manner, and you’re good with people.”: I especially appreciated this one because candidly, I haven’t always believed that I’m an effective leader so it’s nice to hear this (AND from someone I met at our job over 15 years ago!) Hearing this feedback about myself was affirming and felt nice at a time when life is admittedly hard. I’m not giving up because where’s the fun in that? Plus, I’m all these things, and Quitter isn’t anywhere on this list.
