Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in the #Global5GEvolution panel, led by Kaneshwaran Govindasamy, where I discussed how 800.ia is leveraging AI-powered connectivity to create a positive impact. My current thoughts about AI ( they change everyday): Artificial Intelligence (AI) will help us become more relaxed by taking over complex and repetitive tasks, performing them with greater efficiency and fewer errors or biases (if it is programmed for). However, human creativity will remain essential—not just for soft or communication skills, as some AI tools suggest, but for true innovation. Language, for example, is constantly evolving. While AI uses tokens (words) to understand context, only humans can create new words and ways of communicating, shaping those contexts. Another reason AI will remain people-centric is similar to the evolution of numbers. Ancient Romans, one of the most advanced civilizations, wrote numbers like 800 as DCCC and 888 as DCCCLXXXVIII, until Arabic numerals simplified counting and calculations. In AI, the current trend focuses on increasing parameters in large models (LMMs) to improve performance. However, the real shift will happen when we develop smarter algorithms—ones that not only handle complexity but also align better with human needs and sustainability, benefiting both technology and the planet. We are truly in the early stages of AI. Consider transportation as an analogy: in the past, to make a stagecoach faster, we simply added more horses. Today, a Formula 1 car has the power of over 1,000 horses, yet ironically, it doesn't have room for even one real horse. This highlights how technological evolution redefines the way we approach problems. The current mathematical functions driving transformers need to be reconsidered and refined. Big Data unleashed: The power of 6G could unlock the true potential of Big Data and data analysis, leading to groundbreaking advancements in various fields. This is just a glimpse of what the future holds with 6G. While the future remains unwritten, one thing's for sure: this innovation has the potential to redefine how we connect, interact, and experience the world around us.
