Scott Wilmot, CFA and I will be presenting at the Geothermal Rising Conference in Hawai'i next week. If you're there, we'd love to chat. We're doing a lot of work in the space in terms of identifying ideal locations for geothermal based on well costs, geothermal gradients, load and capacity growth forecasting, available transfer capacity, power prices, interconnection queue and so much more. But speaking to the conference, why do we need geothermal? Due to the intermittent nature of solar and wind generation, additional dispatchable resources like geothermal are needed to ensure grid stability. Battery storage is not yet cost-effective for seasonal use, limiting its adoption. The volatility of renewable energy results in overgeneration and peak demand challenges are expected, with the future generation mix varying locally based on factors like load growth and retirements. Here's an example of our load growth forecast, but there is so much more behind it. #Geothermal #Energy

The Advanced Clean Energy Storage project in Delta, Utah, utilizes salt caverns as a solution to storing solar and wind energy for later use.
