Did you know there is interTwin project creating Digital Twin Engine? "interTwin aims at designing and building a prototype of an interdisciplinary #DigitalTwin Engine (DTE), based on a co-designed Blueprint Architecture"

This is a great book on hexagonal architecture, written by the man himself. Oversimplifying, the arch separates the technology specific code from application code and standardises the method and terms of doing so. It uses common abstraction constructs to achieve componenterisation so it fits perfectly into any testing practice. If I could go back I'd learn this pattern first up.
