Global Practice Leader--Energy

Please join my Jones Day colleagues via webinar on March 27th for an exploration of key developments arising at the intersection of AI and copyright law from both a U.S. and a European perspective, as part of the Firm's Women in IP Speaker Series. The panelists will discuss the following: • The human authorship requirement and the copyrightability of works created by AI in whole or in part; • Current litigation surrounding whether the use of copyrighted materials to train AI models and the output from such models constitute copyright infringement; • The fair use doctrine and its applicability to cases involving generative AI and copyright; and • New legal challenges related to the rise of deepfakes and other forms of synthetic media. My colleagues Meredith Wilkes, Ka-on Li, Rebecca Swindells, and Emily Tait will serve as speakers.
