🇺🇸🛰️🗺️📡 After years of delays, the United States Space Force has finally received a “next-generation” upgrade to the control segment of its Global Positioning System (GPS). Known as the Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX), the new software is meant to boost the positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services of the space force’s GPS satellite network. It is also expected to improve signal access in tough environments, detect system failures faster, and sharpen timing and positioning accuracy, all while keeping military GPS codes secure.

Quadsat has raised €5 million to enhance its electronic warfare capabilities. The funding round was led by JOIN CAPITAL and North Ventures, with support from existing investors like Seraphim Space Capital and the Danish Export and Investment Fund. This investment will help Quadsat expand its spectrum intelligence and RF geolocation solutions for the defense sector, particularly in NATO countries. CEO Joakim Espeland said the funding is about doubling down on their technology to pinpoint threats like interference of military installations. Denmark’s EIFO recently backed D3 with $5 million to support 30+ companies advancing AI, autonomous systems, sensors, and next-gen defence technologies. Estonian SmartCap contributed €10 million to the €15 million first close of Darkstar’s pan-European defence tech fund, which invests in purely military solutions from Ukraine without requiring dual-use applications. Ragnar Sass, Darkstar’s co-founder, calls this support "critical for the next 10 years."
