In 2019 Zach Shelby and I started Edge Impulse with the mission to make Machine Learning (not yet called AI yet back then :-) ) a tool in the toolbox of every embedded developer. In the past six years we've onboarded 170,000+ developers who created 450,000+ unique ML projects; grown the team to 75 people; and helped our customers ship millions of AI-enabled devices that use sensors to get an actual understanding of the real world. Today we're announcing the next chapter; as we've entered into an agreement to be acquired by Qualcomm. Our team, brand and product will stay intact; and we'll remain open to the whole silicon ecosystem; but we'll be going much faster and much much bigger (and adding a ton of amazing Qualcomm integrations, starting with new dev kits and running LLMs on device; find us at Embedded World). 2dCongratulations Jan Jongboom and to the entire Edge Impulse team on being acquired by Qualcomm. 🎉👍🏽👏🏽 Not since peanut butter and jelly has a pairing been so monumental to edge AI and the MLOps toolchain, that is, Edge Impulse with Qualcomm. Looking forward to more great things for edge AI with Qualcomm and Edge Impulse.
