(🎧 encouraged) (Read below) Before VS. After. Drum Maintenance Edition . . . We tend to talk a lot about the importance of maintaining the drums that we have. I recognize talking can only go so far, so I had to show y’all what I was talking about. The snare drum in this video is my 1984 Yamaha SD-980RP Hot Red Recording Custom 14” x 8” Snare Drum. Ever since I got this snare drum a couple of years ago, the only things I have changed out were the drum heads. These drum heads relatively stayed the same, and the wires never got changed out until now. Because of the construction of these vintage wires, they didn’t hold up very well, causing the set to go from 20-strand to 15-strand wires. They needed to be changed. In addition to that, I wanted to try out a new drum head, so I snagged an Evans 14” Heavyweight to provide control, depth, and durability to the drum. The longest portion of the process was changing out the snare wires because of having to use a Phillips head screwdriver instead of a drum key. Other than that, this process was smooth and painless. I’m extremely thrilled with the result. What do you guys think? Did you hear the difference between the before and after? How often do you maintain your drum(s)? Leave a comment. Let’s talk about it! Stay creative, and have a great rest of the week. Love you, guys!! Okay. Adding variable negative bias with test points to your Classic fender tube guitar amp. In this case, I'm featuring a Princeton Reverb model AA1164. The new circuit is easy to install. Helps the 6V6's to survive! The original non- adjustable bias circuit had the tubes running to hot, excessive current. Which over time kills the tubes. We all know how expensive they are now days. The test points are the real advantage here. No need to pull the chassis or use an external in line bias plug. Simple & effective.

(🎧 encouraged) (Read below) How many drums do you use on your drum kit? . . . Now, I know this is a very loaded question because it varies from situation to situation. Although there is an amount of drums that we feel most comfortable playing behind. After we get past the comfortable aspect of the set-up we move to what’s practical for a specific gig. This could be a small kit or a big kit. It just comes down to what is needed for a specific genre or situation. But that is not what we are talking about today. That’s for another post. Putting each situation aside, what is your go-to drum kit setup? I’m just so excited to hear what you all have to comment on and see how it differs from one another. Let’s talk about it in the comments. Just a thought. Love you, guys. Okay! Bye. 🥁🤓👊🏻❤️✌🏻 PS: my go-to setup is a: 14” x 9” rack Tom 16” x 16” Floor Tom 22” x 14” Kick Drum 14” x 6” snare drum — #testabeatdrums #geargeek #drumheads #drumset #drums #drum #snaredrum #drumsticks #drummer #asmr #promark #setup #makingmistakes #intentional #guidetrack #orlandodrumtech #orlandodrummer #drumsultant #gear #moments #findyoursound #understandingdrums #keeponlearning #sunday #perspective #drumtuning #practice #spacethefinalfrontier #theprocess #musicaldecisions
