Ice Protection for New Generation Aircraft - VTOL UAV Large VTOLS (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft are a reality. For commercial operations, weather capability, including ice protection, is essential to ensure the safety required in aviation but also to meet AirTaxi schedules or deliver Critical Cargo to remote areas on time, as well as for special missions such as Firefighting. Ice protection for such aircraft is a challenging task that cannot be solved with conventional ice protection systems.  For this reason, LDI / Villinger was commissioned to develop an ice protection system for this aircraft. This groundbreaking unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) supports both manned and unmanned operations and is designed for long-distance flights, boasting a range of 2,500 miles (4,000 kilometers) and a cruising speed of 340 mph (550 kilometers per hour). The aircraft can carry up to 10 passengers or a payload of 2 tons, marking a significant advancement in aviation technology. The Lanying R6000's innovative tiltrotor design enables it to take off, land, and hover like a helicopter while cruising at high speeds akin to fixed-wing aircraft.
