The EU has approved a €920 million state aid package for Infineon to build a cutting-edge semiconductor plant in Dresden. This approval is part of the European Union's broader strategy to reduce reliance on Asian markets and will allow Infineon to develop its MEGAFAB-DD project, a plant that will produce both discrete power technologies and analogue/mixed-signal integrated circuits. These chips will be used across industrial, automotive, and consumer sectors, addressing key technological gaps and accelerating Europe’s semiconductor production.
