I quit drinking alcohol 937 days ago. The year prior, 2021 was rough... I got lost in alcohol, regret and shame. I ended up hospitalised for a week... (I lost my girlfriend and had to rebuild my life) But I managed to turn it around. In the last 3 years: → I quit drinking alcohol forever. → I moved into my dream home in London. → I made a miracle recovery from liver cirrhosis.  → I built up my coaching business in a big way... But I'm gonna' give it to you raw. We know how these 'transformation stories' go... Sad story > Comeback > Now I'm perfect. Real life isn't like that. This is my current reality: 1. I still have 'write off' days. 2. I skip the gym on weekends. 3. I still experience low mood sometimes. 4. I don't always brush my teeth twice (rebel!) Jeez, Ben, why would you tell us that? ↳ because I'm human. I can't complain though, I love my life ↳ and who I am. That's my measure of success... Not how many days of sobriety I've got. Once you have overcome enough bad times. ↳ you know it will pass. So just keep showing up. I believe in you. PS. Everybody saw what happened. Multiple times. I got phone calls, prayers, and long talks from strangers that couldn’t believe someone would play in my face. 🤦🏽♀️ Violently. Couldn’t believe the audacity. Meanwhile, when I was in it , I didn’t see it. All I saw was that I was still I alive and my heart was full. My kids still had a mom and she was growing into herself at an astronomical rate. All I saw was the loyalty, commitment, consistency, care, capacity , courage that I was able to provide.. all soft skills and clearly a love for the letter C; Cookies, cake, coffee you name it. So I doubled down on my soft skills. I gave all that back to myself so I could continue to do what livens me up. #selfcare is where it’s at. … hold space for my executives that are serving others from their heart and not inadequacies. … cheer on those I coach through voluntary twin flame separation. Cause that journeys a beeeesh. … and go from franchise to entrepreneur… again. It’s like if you’re an entrepreneur you can’t escape yourself right 🤣? I’m using skills I’ve possessed for the last decade to help people reclaim themselves as whole, from the comfort of their own homes. When Life Calls My Business Gave Me the Freedom to Answer The past 90 days have been...a journey. I had to step back from my consulting business and limit my client base as I had to move my mom into memory care due to dementia. It’s been a time of mixed emotions, patience, and a surprising amount of laughs in between the tears. Anyone who’s had a loved one with dementia knows how disorienting it can be. One moment, my mom is convinced I’m still 12 (oh, to be that young again!), and then next, she's asking if I'm secretly switching her sugar with salt just to “mess with her.” (I’m not! But sometimes I do wonder: is it dementia...or is she just expertly gaslighting me?) What I’m most grateful for is the flexibility entrepreneurship has given me to be there for her. Running my own business means I get to set my priorities based on the moments that matter most, like sitting with her for hours reminiscing—or re-reminiscing—about family stories that may or may not have happened. But here’s the thing: I’ve missed the work too. Connecting with my clients, digging into strategy, and helping them make their mark is a huge part of who I am. Now that I’m back, I’m ready to bring that energy again, with a few new insights in tow. the truth about self-love (that no one talks about)   Let’s get one thing straight: Loving yourself on this entrepreneurial journey doesn’t always feel like joy, satisfaction, or being patient with yourself... In fact, sometimes it feels like the exact opposite. There are days when I hate my journey—days when I’m fed up with myself, yet somehow I still hold space for self-compassion and gratitude for where I'm at on this journey. It’s messy and complicated, but that’s real self-love. Here’s the thing: true self-love means being willing to experience the full range of emotions that come with the entrepreneurial grind. It’s about giving yourself space to navigate those emotions as they arise and meeting yourself where you are in that very moment. Yeah, it can be frustrating... But here’s the kicker: You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Right now, in this moment—however uncomfortable it feels—it’s perfect. It’s part of YOUR process. Family & Friends Matters! I am so much of a family buddy and unapologetically big on maintaining healthy relationships with family and friends. I've heard stories about people losing their loved ones to busy work schedules, and it pains me. That's why I chose to work remotely and support busy entrepreneurs and executives, freeing up to 80 hours a week for what truly matters to them. It's not just about family - I also make time for my friends! Some days, I'll randomly call or message distant friends, sharing a fond memory we cherish. It's amazing how a simple "Hey, remember that time..." can brighten someone's day and strengthen our bond.
