Our CEO Olof Persson has been invited to attend the kick-off meeting of the ‘Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the European Automotive Industry’ initiative, held today in Brussels and presided over by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. The Dialogue brought together major European #automotive industry players, representatives of consumer organisations and trade unions. The aim is to develop a shared understanding of the current and most critical challenges and come up with rapid solutions and mid and long-term initiatives to support the global competitiveness of automotive #manufacturing. Addressing President von der Leyen, Olof outlined the peculiarities and challenges of the commercial vehicle sector. He also highlighted the need for an urgent assessment of the enabling conditions: policy makers and OEMs need to work together to ensure that we quickly move forward to implement the right solutions. Equally important is a technology neutral regulatory framework, in which sustainable liquid and gaseous #biofuels can play a role, as we remain fully committed to a fast, clean transition towards more #sustainable road transport. #WeGoBeyond
Technology, policy and infrastructure, stakeholders have to go hand in hand to meet decarbonization targets. Very important words: Technology neutral regulatory framework. This will help all possible technologies to flourish including non-fossil fuel.
Желаю успехов в достижении поставленных целей
Great to see Iveco Group actively contributing to the future of the European automotive industry! 🚛🔋 The commercial vehicle sector faces unique challenges, and collaboration between policymakers and OEMs is essential to drive a sustainable and efficient transition. Biofuels, electrification, and innovation must go hand in hand to ensure a resilient and competitive transport industry. 💡🌍 Looking forward to the next steps in this crucial dialogue! 👏
Hurra för Olof! 🥳🙌🍾
In Brussels, you’d better hurry up if it’s not already too late, having left the door wide open to the Chinese. It wasn’t enough, and no lesson was learned from what happened with the textile industry, for example, and its relocations to Southeast Asia. With Trump and his team, the deputies in Brussels no longer have a choice—before European manufacturers, along with factories and jobs, disappear for good. It’s so easy to "fix" problems with taxes here and there... Meanwhile, an entire economy is at risk, and, of course, once again, it's European workers who will pay the price!
