INTERSOS - Humanitarian Organization’s Post

In humanitarian crises such as Afghanistan and Nigeria, where access to essential goods is hindered by conflict, insecurity, and fragile infrastructure, every delay in aid delivery can mean the difference between life and death. Thanks to our partnership with Airlink, Inc., we have been able to overcome these barriers and ensure that critical medical supplies and life-saving goods reach those most in need. In 2024 alone, Airlink has facilitated the transport of over 19,374 kg of cargo for our operations in Afghanistan and Nigeria, generating $115,925 in transport savings. These saved resources have been reinvested to enhance our field operations. Afghanistan: delivering essential healthcare in a fragile health system In Afghanistan, our goal is to improve access to essential healthcare services in a country where conflict and logistical constraints make every intervention a challenge. With Airlink's support, we have been able to: 🔹 Deliver 48 pallets of medical equipment and essential medicines, supporting 135,000 people in Zabul and Kandahar provinces. 🔹 Provide 12 life-saving medicines to remote health facilities, benefiting 98,000 patients, with a focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality. 🔹 Distribute 3,600 clean delivery kits to pregnant women in isolated areas, reducing the risk of neonatal infections and complications during childbirth. Nigeria: addressing a protracted health emergency In northeast Nigeria, conflict has displaced millions of people, significantly increasing the need for healthcare assistance. Through this partnership, we have: 🔹 Transported essential medicines and cold-chain oxytocin, crucial for reducing postpartum hemorrhage. 🔹 Provided healthcare services to 134,000 people, improving access to maternal and child health services and reducing preventable disease-related mortality. These results highlight how collaboration between humanitarian actors and logistics partners can make a tangible difference in the lives of thousands. Together, we can break down the barriers preventing the most vulnerable communities from accessing the aid they need. A special thanks to Airlink for their unwavering support: without their logistics network and commitment, none of this would have been possible.

This is great work from both companies. Well done! Logistics is one of the most costly components of any humanitarian mission. Keeping costs down and availability high is great milestone to achieve. Out of interest, how costly is your water logistics chain INTERSOS - Humanitarian Organization. I feel like Wananchi can help reduce these cost dramatically for you and we wold love to be a part of the solution in both Afghanistan and Nigeria or indeed anywhere where water is a scarcity.
