To all expats in Denmark: A Heartfelt Thank You! 🙏🏽 To all the expats AND families who have chosen Denmark as your new home, I want to take a moment to genuinely celebrate you. Your contributions to the Danish economy, culture, and workplace are immense. From driving innovation in companies to enriching the cultural diversity of our society, you help make Denmark a stronger, more dynamic country. I am deeply grateful for your decision to build your lives here. Denmark offers so many benefits: a world known work-life balance, a strong and stabile economy and a safe, peaceful environment. But I also recognize that it’s not always easy to fully settle in. It’s no surprise to me that settling in Denmark can be a challenge, but this past weekend at The International Citizen Days in Øksnehallen was still an eye-opener: Hearing firsthand from so many of you about the hurdles you face – from grappling with the language, to the difficulties of truly integrating and feeling included in Danish society – brought these challenges into even sharper focus. The personal stories about how hard it can be to build meaningful connections, especially outside of work, left a lasting impression on me. Yet, despite these challenges, you persevere. Danish culture, while its many strengths, can sometimes feel a bit closed off. I fully recognize the barriers this creates for those trying to find their place here. However, by fostering open conversations and creating more inclusive spaces, we can work together to bridge these gaps and make it easier for everyone to feel truly at home. Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the opening of the Danish Parliament once again. As a former Member of Parliament, it’s always a special experience to be back, engaging in meaningful conversations about political issues. I had the opportunity to speak with several politicians about the real stories behind all the impressive statistics of international labor contribution to Danish economy. You are a success story that calls for greater political attention and support. While I know that the solutions must come from all of us— politically, in our workplaces, and socially in our everyday interactions— I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your contributions. As a Dane: Thank you for choosing Denmark and for enriching our country in countless ways. Let’s work together to make Denmark a place where everyone feels truly at home. #Expats #Denmark #ThankYou #InternationalCitizenDay

🌍 Sweden's New Focus: Easing the Return for Swedes Abroad 🇸🇪 The news that Sweden is exploring ways to make it easier for Swedes abroad to return home is nothing short of sensational. Let’s put this into perspective: 700,000 to 900,000 Swedes have left the country, seeking opportunities and a better quality of life abroad due to lack of opportunities in Sweden. Recent surveys suggest that 25% of Sweden’s population would consider leaving if they could find a good place to settle. These numbers reveal a fascinating and perhaps concerning trend: a significant portion of Swedes are seeking their future beyond Sweden's borders. Yet, many of those who leave often carry with them an enduring connection to their homeland—whether it’s family, 'culture', or the dream of someday coming back. By simplifying the migration process for Swedes abroad, Sweden could tap into a valuable resource: highly skilled, globally experienced individuals who could bring fresh perspectives and talent back to Sweden. This could not only help address local challenges but also infuse new energy into Sweden's economy, innovation, and social fabric. An economy that is in tatters. The question is: What kind of policies and infrastructure will Sweden need to truly make this work? How can the country balance the needs of Swedes returning home with the existing challenges faced by those who never left? To those of you living abroad: Would easier pathways to return influence your decision? Or have you already planted your roots elsewhere? 🌱 #Sweden #Migration #GlobalTalent #Opportunity

🌍 Why does Portugal have one of the lowest percentages of foreign populations in the OECD? According to a recent report, only 10.8% of Portugal’s population consists of foreigners—well below the OECD average of 14.7%. While the foreign population here has grown steadily over the past decade, the pace is slower compared to other countries like Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Australia. This got me thinking: What factors could be influencing this? Could it be bureaucratic challenges that make settling here more difficult? Is Portugal’s appeal more limited to certain types of foreigners, like retirees or remote workers? Or could it be linked to economic opportunities, infrastructure, or cultural factors? At Paco Services we work closely with foreigners transitioning to life in Portugal, and we’ve seen firsthand the hurdles people face—navigating administrative systems, adapting to a new culture, and finding local resources. But with more people choosing Portugal as their new home, there’s so much potential to build solutions that make the process smoother and more accessible. 📢 What do you think? What might be holding Portugal back from attracting more foreigners, and how can businesses and communities help? I’d love to hear your insights! #Portugal #MigrationTrends #RelocationSupport #ExpatLife #OECD #OpenDiscussion

The Guidebook for a Good UN-Tourism Secretary General: This is the benchmark of a Statement of Management and Policy Intent by one of the most qualified candidate for UNWTO Secretary-General. Dr. Walter Mzembi, candidate for the Republic of Zimbabwe in 2017, supported by the African Union, lost second to the current secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili due to manipulation and irregularities, some clearly called fraud. 🇵🇹 PORTUGAL AND THE ANNOUNCED SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC COLLAPSE Yesterday in Lisbon, Portugal witnessed a demonstration by immigrants, manipulated by a radical left aiming to create social chaos and capitalize on their votes. The protest was triggered by a routine police operation weeks earlier, where individuals were frisked and lined up against a wall—standard procedure, one that many, including myself, experienced growing up. For those who view Portugal through the lens of international tourism promotions—a sunny, picturesque, and safe haven—the reality is starkly different. In the next three to four decades, Portugal faces an inevitable social and economic collapse. The Real Portugal Portugal is a country with one of the lowest birth rates in the EU and an aging native population. At this rate, the native Portuguese population could vanish within a few decades. Political leaders have failed across the board—failing to incentivize childbirth and economic growth. Lisbon and the northern regions are increasingly populated by immigrants. The town where I grew up now has hardly any native Portuguese left. The Sintra area is dominated by African, Asian, and Brazilian immigrants, many of whom do not speak Portuguese. Traditional commerce is being replaced by fruit shops, barbers, and hair salons, while established businesses close their doors. A Wasteland of Industry and Innovation Portugal has dismantled its industry and agriculture. If Europe is lacking in innovation, Portugal is an outright desert. A country that once had 10 million Portuguese is now at risk of being swallowed by a borderless globalist ideology. In a few decades, it could become a third-world nation, devoid of quality commerce, services, industry, or entrepreneurship. Worse still, it will face social conflicts due to a lack of a cohesive culture capable of driving progress. Leadership Without Vision Portugal suffers from an inept political class—short-sighted, slow-moving, and oblivious to the consequences of relying on third-world immigration. Innovators and wealth creators are not more likely to emerge from impoverished backgrounds. This is precisely why we invested in education for decades, only to see educated Portuguese emigrate, replaced by migrants with little potential to contribute to innovation or wealth generation. A Misguided Elite Adding to the problem is an out-of-touch elite of commentators and influencers who flaunt their moral superiority and humanitarian ideals by defending every immigrant indiscriminately. True humanitarianism also involves safeguarding the rights and futures of the Portuguese people. For Portugal, it may already be too late. Let us hope the same cannot be said for the rest of Europe.

OPINION - Interesting analysis that gives away a couple facts : Europe is lagging behind in productivity and their share of impactful drivers such as technology (e.g. AI, etc) is neglectable. Now, when it comes to wealth, while US adjusted cost of living GDP per capita is 28% higher than Europeans, that has an ugly distortion behind by the wealth concentration/uneven distribution. Once you look at the median wealth per adult, Europeans carry a substantial higher value. Meaning, US is richer on the hands of a few super-rich while the majority of the population is way poorer than their neighbors. As my favorite country, Australians have a factor of more than 2X on the median wealth over the Americans. Where would one chose to live…today ? Europeans also have better living standards, welfare systems , public pensions, much longer vacations and a significant higher lifespan (81,5 vs 77,5 yrs). And no extreme Trump in Europe…so far, though that’s seems it’s not going to last. Now the risk is that Europeans may spoil their future if they don’t get their act together to grab a bigger chunk of the world’s wealth creation, which is not an easy task when it comes to competing with US and China. 👹 Rich US Tourists Will Make Europeans Feel Poor Europe’s high living standards are at risk unless it does more to boost productivity and wealth creation. https://lnkd.in/dkmqMmK9

This recognition cements the longstanding partnership between Iceland and the WHO European Well-being Economy Initiative, which has been leading the way in redesigning the economy for more resilient and healthier societies that leave no one behind.
