More interesting charts from the July MedPAC Data Book, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have stated that their plan is to have 100% of Medicare beneficiaries in a Value-Based or Accountable Care relationship by the year 2030. This chart shows the progress that has been made toward that goal but there remain the 22% of #Medicare beneficiaries in Fee-For-Service. Hawaii this summer is poised to roll out palliative care coverage via Medicaid. In May, a State Plan Amendment (SPA) that allows coverage of palliative care through Med-QUEST, the state’s Medicaid program, was approved by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
